Green, The Weather, Saturday, was warm. tite a breeze was stirring durirjg the greatportion of the day, but while it had a idency to cool the atmosphere, it caused dust to fly in a manner peculiarly disaMihk The River was on the decline during ) entire day, and if there is no change-, I will soon begin to record that boats are t aground on certain bars. All the eams of which our telegraphic report ves us any tidings, are reported to lie lulls'Business was dull. The Charley imem and Silver Star created some little ir about the hour of their departure, but yond that, nothing of interest was risible i the landing. Freights are scarce and unchanged price. The Cliarley Bowen left at 12 o'clock ith a good load of passengers and freight. The Silver Star also departed with a ir trip of passengers, but not much freight, owerer, she had some 800 sacks of corn igaged a short distance below the city, hich will improve her trip. She had a ece of the Evansville Brass band on board. The Greg Eagle arrived Saturday -vening with a light trip. She returned to ouidville at her usual hour. The steady Durhir which isalwnys x baud at her advert oJ hour is the Mail icket to-day for Paducah and all way jints. Capt. Gus Fowler and Clerk Duucbet are both efficient and pleasant offiirs, and will use every exertion to entertain Msengers, and take care of freight. The "hinbar should be favored with a good load. The Lue Eaves is the Green river acket this afternoon. Capt. McDonald has ained many friends since he entered the ade, and we are sure he will be favored ith a good load this afternoon before bis ttle steamer takes her departure. The Submarine No. 6 went down .he river Saturday, gui ied by on3 of the pi.ots of the Botven. Captain Henry Swizer bought half of .he New Falls City a few days ago,nt the rate jf about $50,000 for the entire boat. He is :o assume command. Her present eommainir, Capt. Woods, retires from river life. The Memphis papers state that J. F. Smith, late of the Simonds, is to take comjaand of the General Quitman. ' The Southerner, Louisville and Memphig packet, passed here on her way down on Saturday morning with a good trip. The Gen' I Pike, from While river to Louisville, touched here on her way up. The Brownsville Ttxas) correspondent of the New Orleans' Delia, , writing on toe ISth ult , in regard to the Iroubles on the border, says : Within the last ten days quite a number of mysterious looking strangers have made their appearance in this vicinity their nuuioer is variously estimated from seventy -live to one hundred and fifty they are well armed and well mounted, and gi ve out that they are emigrants "en route" for Mexico, and that they travel in crowds with a view to protection. It is understood here, however, that these emigrants are what are Btyled Knights of the Golden Circle, and that they are going to .Mexico with a viewto aiding the Juarez Government against MiramoD. They are encarujied on the river, about eight miles above here, and it is said they are daily receiving occasions in the way of men. Speculations are various as to the real object of the emigrants.
