Empire City, St. Louis, Grey Eagle, Louisville, Pacific, New Orleans, Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, Silver Wave, Pittsburg, Silver Star, Paducah, Southerner, Memphis, Greenville, B. Green Emerald, New Orleans, St. Louis, St. Louis Lancaster No. 3, Lou., W. V. Gillum, Livermore Autocrat, Louisville. DEPARTED. Empire City, Pittsburg, Grey Eagle, Louisville, Pacific, Louisville, Fort Wayne, N.O., Silver Star, Paducah, Southerner, Louisville, Greenville, B. Green, Silver Wave, St. Louis, Lue Eaves, S. Carrolton, Emerald, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Pittsburg, Lancaster No. 3, St. L'is. ......The <Weather>, yesterday was very pleasant, but business was rather dull. ......The <River>, yesterday, was falling slowly during the day. Our regular dispatches show that it is on the decline at all points above. ......The <Silver Star> and <Lue Eaves> departed—the latter with a very good trip. She was honored with the presence of the lady from whom she takes her name. ......The <Autocrat> arrived last night, but having received a good part of her cargo above, did not take on as much freight here as was desired. We presume she left for New Orleanss [sic] during the night. ......The <Greenville> arrived in the morning with a fair cargo. We were favored with a manifest from our old friend Si. McCracken who now presides in the office of the <Greenville>. After discharging freight, the boat left for Bowling Green. ......The swift and elegant <Dunbar> will be at the landing this morning ready for freight and passengers to all points South. The <Dunbar> is the mail packet and can always be depended on to leave at her advertised hour, which is 12 o'clock. Capt. Gus. Fowler, a popular commander, and Mr. Gus. Dusouchet, who is always in a good humor, will welcome passengers and entertain them agreeably while they remain on board their boat. ......On Saturday evening steam was raised on the new steamer <B. J. Adams>, for the purpose of making a trial trip. She was perfectly black with the beauty and chivalry of the city, who enjoyed the trip immensely. Dan. White's band was on board, and discoursed some excellent music to the delight of all within its sound. The boat proceeded down the river about 22 miles, and returned after an absence of about three hours. Everything about her worked to a charm.—<N. A. Ledger>. We hope, gentlemen of the <Ledger>, that black is not the color of your beauty and chivalry. Are you not mistaken in the color? ......The Union will, doubtless, be at our landing to-day, receiving freight for Green river. ......The <Bracelet> is soon to enter the Henderson and Louisville trade. ......The <W. V. Gillum> arrived yesterday with 50 hhds of tobacco. She is under the command of Capt. W. H. Miller, an energetic officer, and will leave for Hartford to-day at 12 o'clock. Freight destined for Green River should be sent to the <Gillum>. ......The <Emerald> passed up yesterday at noon, with the delegates to the Young Men's Christian Union, which recently convened at New Orleans, on board. They seemed to be enjoying themselves finely, notwithstanding the length of the voyage. ......The <B. J. Adams>, having got all things in readiness, was to leave Louisville yesterday, and will be at the landing to-day. Receipts by River. FROM BOWLING GREEN, PER GREENNILLE [sic].—40 hhd tobacco, I. A. The Elkhart Times, which lns steadily opposed the nomination of Judge Bates by the Republican Convention, comes out decidedly for Judge McLean, lu a recent notice of the probable nomination of Douglas at Charleston it says: We must have a man to meet him "ne of National reputation, around whom can rally all the opponents of this vile and corrupt Administration. It will be a warm fight, and the warmer the merrier. The Republicans of the North West will enter into the engagement with spirit with an appetite for the combat and each feeling that the result in a great measure depends on his own good right arm, will hurl defiance at the foe. "Coin" iiik, come all, this rock shall lly Front its firm baae as soon - I.'1 We reiterate the opinion that if Douglas is nominated John McLean can beat him. Si'EAiciKo at Sullivan Postponed. Owing to the fact that the Democrats are to hold a Convention in the town of Sullivan on the 5th day of May, and that being the time Col. Lane and Mr. Hendricks were, by appointment, to speak there, they have postponed their appointment until some fu ture day. Neither of the above named gen- i tleraen will therefore be present at Sullivan as intended. Will the friends in Sullivan please give publicity to this, in order that there be no disappointment in relation to this matter ? -Terre Haute Express. Kf.xtuckv Statu Guards.
