Dunbar, Paducati, Bracelet, Lue Kuvos, S. Carrol tou, Louisville. The Weather, yesterday, was very pleasant. Tlie river was falling rapidly during the day. It is on the decline at all points from which we have any information. Business was dull in the extreme. Only three boats are registered as arriving daring the day. The splendid, swift, and accommodating passenger packet, Silrcr Star, will be found at the landing, this morning, with shingle out for Cairo. Capt. Hall, a boatman of experience, and n gentleman in every particular,' will be found in command, with those, clever fellows, Bunting and Flournoy, in the office. The Silver Star is furnished with all the appliances calculated to render traveling delightful, and should be favored with a good load of passengers und freight. The magnificent Greg Eagle will l at the landing to-day, with shingle out for Louisville. This steamer in one of the handsomest on the river, and ia commanded by a clever gentleman Capt. Daniels while the duties of her olBce are performed by Mr. Sam. Halliday, a gentleman of popular attainments. The Autocrat will be duo to-day, and will probably clear our landing of the freight now on it. Capt. Scott on deck, with Messrs. Benedict and Harrison in the office, insure the prompt atteutiou necessary to put freight aud passengers through to New Orleans in good style. The Lue Eaves arrived with 25 hhds of tobacco, and 12 passenger?. A3 she was rounding to, a gust of wind blew overboard a buggy that was on her huricune deck, w hich sunk immediately. There will he no chance to raise it until the river falls. -The Dunbar left at her usual hour, with a fair trip of freight and passengers. The Caroline was due last night with an excellent load. She may not arrive, however, until In liar The Ime Eaves will leave this mottling at 10 o'clock for South Oarrolton. The Bracemi p.issed up yesterday afternoon, with her decks and guards covered with cut ton. Tho B. J. Adams, Capt. Triplet t's new steamer, failed to depart as stated, owing to some delay in completing her outfit. She is now advertised to leave Louisville on Thursday evening. The Gen. D. M. White, dpt. bancaster's new boat, had up steam yesterday, and is going to enter the Wabash trade. She will run between Fugene and Terre Haute. Another Splendid Louisville and Nkw Oblka.ns Packet. Capt. Harry I. Spotts, of this city, has closed contracts for a new boat for the Louisville and New Orleans trade, which, in point of speed, capacity, splendor, and outfit, will not be surjiasscd by any boat in the trade. The new Boat is to be fully identified as a Louisville packet, and will be ready to make her lirst trip in October. The hull is to be built by Dowerinan k Humphreys, and the engines by Lent, South & Shiptnau, ol New Albany. The dimensions are as follows : Length of hull UC5 feet straight, and 280 feet overall, with 40 feetbeam, and M5 feet floor, with S feet depth of hold, with a very sharp, e:isy, model, the builders guaranteeing that in point of speed she shall equal, if not excel, any boat they have yet built. The engines are to be each 30 inches in diameter, with 10 feet stroke, to work a water wheel 37 feet in diameter, with 1 r A feet length of bucket. She is to have 7 boilers, each 40 inches iu diameter and 30 feet in length. The contract for the cabin has not yet Ih-cii given out.
