Anderson, St. L's, Greenville, Bowling Green, Belle Creole, Cin., Aurora, New Orleans, Monarch, New Orleans, John Gault, Lou., New Uncle Sam, New Orleans. ——— ......The <Weather>, Saturday, was pleasant, though the dust was disagreeable. The <River> declined slowly during the day. ......<Business> was quite active, but freights are beginning to be thinned out a little. There is enough yet left, however, to complete the outfit of two or three boats. The rates are as we last quoted them: Pork 60c per bbl; flour 50c per bbl; corn 30c per sack; tobacco $5 per hhd; eggs 1 00 per bbl; hay $10@$12 per ton; lard 15c per keg; cattle $6@$7 per head; sheep 75c; whisky 90c@$l per bbl. Pound freights 25c per 100 lbs. Way freights 35c per 100 lbs. ......The <Grey Eagle> is the regular Louisville packet this morning. This splendid steamer is entirely new, was built especially for the trade in which she is now running, and combines all the conveniences and luxuries that go to make up a modern floating palace. ......The <Atlantic> passed up about 8 o'clock Saturday in hot pursuit of the <Autocrat>. The <Atlantic> left New Orleans about 31 hours behind the <Autocrat> and was only about four hours behind her at this port. It was the intention of Capt. McGill, when he left here, to beat the <Autocrat> to Louisville. The <Atlantic> attempted to pass the <Gen. Quitman> between New Orleans and Memphis, but made a most miserable failure. The <Quitman> run away from her, with all the ease imaginable. ......The <Bowling Green> departs to-day for Bowling Green, under the auspices of Capt. Sage. The <Bowling Green> is one of the swiftest and most comfortable steamboats that runs in Green River. Capt. Sage says he intends wearing her out in that trade, and we are sure he will meet with a liberal patronage. ......The <Lue Eaves>, let it be remembered, is the regular South Carrollton packet. She will depart this afternoon. Our merchants should have their freight on the landing in season. Capt. Zach Taylor still presides in the office, and graces the head of the table. Long may he reign. ......The <New Uncle Sam lay here all day Saturday taking on freight. She left Saturday night. The following is her shipment from here, as near as we could learn. 1,755 bbls flour, 1,824 sks corn, 46 casks bacon, 225 bales hay, 219 sks potatoes, lot sundries, I. A. Crane & Co.; 100 bales hay, C. Dusouchet; 200 empty molasses bbls, Geo. Foster & Co.; 102 hhds bacon, 1 tierce do, 57 hhds pork, 300 bbls pork, 199 bbls flour, 6 bbls eggs, Brown & Aikman. ......The <Autocrat> arrived Saturday morning about 10 o'clock. She put out 500 bbls molasses and 500 sacks coffee. She left for Louisville about 4 o'clock with a crowd of deck and cabin passengers. The <Autocra> ran into the woods on Thursday night, and damaged one of her wheel houses, but not seriously. ......The <Dunbar> is the fine passenger and mail packet for Paducah to-day at twelve o'clock. Capts. Fowler and Dusouchet will be on hand, as usual, to look after the comfort and safety of those who commit themselves to their care, and their boat is supplied with all the luxuries that an epicure could desire. ......The <Magnolia> and <John Raine> were advertised to leave New Orleans on Tuesday evening last. They will be due here to-day if they did not pass up yesterday. ......The <Union> will be due from Bowling Green to-day. ......The <Greenville> left on Saturday with a good cargo. ......The <John Gault> passed up Saturday evening. ......The <W. V. Gillum> is now at Louisville. She is having her guards widened in order to carry tobacco. The <Courier> says she has a contract to carry 2,500 hhds of tobacco from Brush Creek and Green River to the Ohio. ......The <Autocrat> will be down from Louisville to-day. She will doubtless find a full load ready for her capacious decks. ......A coal-boatman named Lemuel Knaper, of Hawesville, Ky., had both legs broken on the 10th, while tying two coalboats to a tree with a large rope hawser.— The strain caused the bight to pull out, occasioning the accident, which will probably prove fatal. ......The New Albany <Tribune>, speaking about the huge pile of freight on our wharf, says: "Probably the Uncle Sam can lower their pile for them." By her freight list in another column, the <Tribune> will see that she has taken some freight, but there is plenty more left of the same sort." The unapproachable <Autocrat> will have' her fill, too, when she comes. ======= Receipts ty Railroad. SIabcu 17th, 18G0. 6 bbls egg. 1 bbl butter, A. Leuicke A Co.; 3 bbls apples, 2 bbls eggs J. 11.
