The Republican Circular. Th Enquirer published, with a great flourish, Saturday morning, (and harps on it immensely) a secret circular of the Republican Executive Congressional committee at Washington, calling for aid from members of their party throughout tha country, in the shape of voluntary contributions, to purchase documents for general distribution. We ' have not received the Circular, and know of its. existence only through the Democratic pres?, which is making an awful hullabaloo about it. We don't see anything so terrible in the Circular. It is a much better and fairer way to raise money for such purposes by voluntary contributions from the people, than it is to pilfer it from the "contingent fund" of the Nation, or filch it from the bard earnings of poor clerks and laborers in the service of Government, as the Buchanan Democracy make a practice of doing. In fact, the Circular and its object, we undertake to say, are entirely honorable and legitimate. The trouble with the Bogus Democracy is, -li rtnrtAiiltnn 4TtAv Irnniv m At rl I tr iw and thinking people, and are likely to be confirmed in their hostility to Lecotnptonijrn by these silent missives, which will be eat by millions over the land, , carrying healing on their myriad wings. , But what especially vexes the office-holders and their hangers-on, thousands of intelligent Democrats will get hold of these documents and be turned against the infamous' heresies of Lecomptonism. ' 8 We are under obligations -to the . Evansville Journal for a daily exchange for our weekly. We clip from its columns much of our latest news. We abhor the Journal' i politics Republican but think it a firstrate paper for news, which, it always contains in great variety. We again return thanks to the editors of . the Journal, and will say that if any of our citizens want a trnoA ntiMr fnr lata npwq tliA Jmirnnl ia that kind of paper.- Uenderton Reporter. We thank our frieads of the. Reporter for their kind notice of the Journal as a Xect paper. We think they will acknowledge that, whatever they may call us politically whether Republicans or otherwise we how no disposition to meddle with .the affairs of our neighbors of Kentucky. If we areRepublicaus, we are of the National, Conservative kind, and insist on all the Constitutional! rights aud immunities of the Southern people being accorded to . them freely and fully. We would sooner lose our right hand than deny them a privilege they enjoy by virtue of the National Compact. gQfThe Indianapolis Sentinel staled, several days ago, that in the recent conference between Col. Lane and Mr. Hendricks, opposing nominees for Governor, Mr. H. wished to speak in every county, but - Col. L. desired to restrict the joint canvass to one speech in each Cogressiooal district, and that finally they settled on twenty joint debates. We take the statement to be correct, though we do not know it to be so." If it is correct, we presume the reason why Col. L. wished to restrict the debates was on account of his weak lungs. It is well known, that he has frequently been rednced very low in health by over-exertion in speaking. The New Albany Ledger, with its customary fairness, makes the following remark : The fact is Col. Lane's strength will not permit him to make the usual canvass, and we presume thru duty will devolve on Judge Morton. Other Democratic papers crow considerably over Col. Lane's refusal to make joint speeches in every county, as if be were afraid to do sot They will be disabused of that notion before the summer is over.. 'In North Carolina, where Douglas expected to get instructions favorable to himself, only two delegates out of ten are in his interest, and they are from i District where the Democrats are in a minority. The State Convention passed the following resolution : Resolved, That neither Congress nor the Territorial Legislature, whether by direct legislation or legislation of an indirect or unfriendly character, possesses power to an nul or impair the constitutional right of any citizen of ttTb United States to take his slave property into the common Territories, and there hold and enjoy the same while the Territorial condition remains. - Does that look ike squatter sovereignty ? Truly, Douglas stock is getting worse and worse, day by day. His, friends had better bolt in advance, te save their credit. , , v The Enquirer says " the Chicago JYet and Tribune, the organ of the conservative Republicans of Illinois, glorified the deeds of the Ottawa rescuers," etc. According to our information, the Prete and Tribune is one of the most ultra paper in It.' Mnois. Weknow its proprietors are extreme men. If that paper is conservative, where do you &nd your ultra papers? 86fWe see it announced that the Washington Republic is to be discontinued. It is a Republican, paper of rather radical tendencies!

Beef is now selling there at twenty-five cents per pound, and tbe price threatens to advance indefinitely. A leading hotel-keeper of Charleston has been to this city to -visit the botchers of Fulton market, and secure contracts for Lesf to be delivered in Charleston duiing the Convention, but found tbe pricesdemanded too high, and - fears are entertained -that the caliary preparation of beef will, from a lack of the raw material, soon become to Charleston one 'of tbe lost arts. This will certainly be the case in the event of tbe failure of the line of steamers to New York. N. Y. Exchange paper.

Tbe State Fair. The ninth annual State Fair of the Indiana State Board of Agriculture will be held upon tbe new grounds, ia the city of Indianapolis, commencing on Monday, October 15th, 18C0, and continuing during the week. The State Board of Agriculture have adopted the following, regulating the admission fees : Card Admitting a two-horse vehicle, $1 ; for a one-borse vehicle, 50 cents; for a saddle horse, 25 cents ; and all persons accompanying tbe above to have, badges or single tickets. - Single tickets 25 cents each, good for one admission only, and dropped at tbe gate and no check for return. - : JSaS"" The Enquirer has commenced the work of reading out of the party all ' Democrats who treaten to bolt Douglas or face " on squatter . sovereignty. The Economist took the FIRST PKKMIUM FOR THE BEST OOK1NG STOVE FOR WOOD. Koelker, Klusmau ft Co took the first premium for their cooking stove for coal. No other premiums were offered. The large silver mi-dal was awarded to the Economist at the New York state Fair ; and the first premium at the United Status Fair held at Chicane, aud twelve other Stats and County Faii in 1S59. We heard so much of this sb-ve, sail it looked so much like a store intended for use, that we concladed to try them, aud the result of the experiment convinces us that the proprietors, in their determination to make thc&eaf utora in tke world, have succeeded.' We regard the Economist as possessing all the merits above euu inerated as the great stove of the day tar in advance of auything ever attempted iu the line of stoves, perfect in all its appointments, and trae to iu name iu durability and ths use of fuel. Among the many convenience attached to It, may be mentioned a large oven, with hooka arranged, lor suspending meats while roasting.. A copper water tank, holding from 12 to 'iit gallons-rwarming closet, broiling hearth, sic, Ac. The broiling hearth is one of the most noticeable features of this remarkable stove. There never has been, to uur knowledge, any broiling nxturo that was really sat i factory in its operation. Tbe proprietors of ti stove have been conducting a series of experiment upoa broiling, eliciting some valuable facta, ad resulting In the invention of a gridiron adapted to this stove, which has been secured by letters patent, and is one of the most admirable things of tbe kiud we ever saw broiling without smoke, and keeping the coals in a constant glow. The fiist premium was awarded to this Stove as the bast coal or wood cooking stove at tbe Southwestern Indiana District Fair, held at this place. No stove ever devised combines as numerous or Importaut scientific principles as this of Stewart's. It broils, boils, bakes and roasts at the same moment, without one dish imparting flavor to another, or prodnciug that sameness of taste in meats and gravies, which, to tbe delicate and fastidions of taste, makes so insuperable an objection to every other cooking stove now in use. With one-fourth of the fuel employed in the best of stoves now ill use, this most perfect and complete conking apparatus performs, simultaneously and more perfectly than has ever before been accomplished, everything required in the beat provided families, so far as .cooking is concerned. When, too, it is borne in mind that the most delicate females ran visit the kitchen when the Stewart Stove is fully employed, and the fire is at its height, without the smallest npleasautnass -from the change of temperature, so little is the heat from it diffused externally, an inducement is presented for its universal employment never heretofore presented in any other stove.
