SHERWOOD, as a candidate for the office of Marshal, at the city oiectiou in April next. feblS Iron Masters' Costbstion. We learn from the Cincinnati Commercial that a large Convention of iron masters, furnace men and capitalists met in Portsmouth (Ohio) on Tuesday morning. On a call of delegates, xt appeared that nearly every furnace and iron interest in Kentucky and Ohio were represented. After organization a statement was made of the iron interest of the two States, from which it appears that the average produce of pig-iron from sixty-two furnaces was 155,000 tons per annum; value ot cold and not blast metal, 54,600,000; population supported by furnaces, 31,000 ; bands employed, 6,200, ic. In the after noon the committee to whom the matter Tras entrusted reported a memorial to Congress, in which they represent that iron manufacture is in such depressed condition as to ren der the capital invested scarcely remunera tive, and that relief can only be afforded by a specific duty on the import of foreign iron. A series of resolutions was then passed, allegiug, among other things, that it is the duty of Congress to afford such protection as will infuse new life and energy into the nnprosperous iron trade of the country Aaf. Intelligencer. A new light of intense brilliancy lins been exhibited lately at the London Crystal Pal ace. It is obtained by projecting a jet of oxygen and hydrogen, or oxygen and carbnretted hydrogen gases combined upon a surface of lime, which is protected from crumbling. It is called the Lime Light. The power of illumination is said to l immense, a Bingle jet of medium size being equivalent to the light of four hundred wax candles of four to the pound. It costs only two cents an hour, and is well adapted to lighting places where an immense illumination is required, such as light-houses, manufactories, churches, bridges, wharves, &. All who witnessed the experiments were satisfied with their success. Judson's MOUNTAINHERB PILLS. Above we present you with a perfect likeness of Tezuco, a chief of a tn be of the strange Aztoc Nation, that once ruled Mexico. You will find a full account of him in our pamphlets and almanacs to be had gratis from the Agents for these Pills. The inventor aud manufacturer of "Judson's Mountain Herb Pills" has spent the greater part of his life m traveling, having visited nearly every country in the world. . He speut over six years among the Indians of the Rocky Monntaius and of Mexico, and it was thus that the "Mountain Herb Pills" were discovered. A very interesting account of his adventures there ou will find in our Almanacs and Pamphlets. It is an established fact that all diseases arise from IMPURE BL0CTH The blood is the life ; and when any foreign or unhealthy matter gets mixed with it, it is at once distributed to every organ of the body. Every nerve feels the poison, and all the vital organs quickly complain. The stomach will not digest the food perfectly. The liver ceases to secrete a sufficiency of bile. The action of the heart is weakened, and so tho circulation is feeble. The lungs become clogged with the poisonous matter ; hence, a cough and all from a slight impurity at the fountain head of life the Blood ! As if you had thrown some earth, for instance, in a pure spring, . from which ran a tiny rivulet in a few minutes the whole course of the stream becomes disturbed and discolored. As quickly does impuro blood fly to evory part, ami leave its sting behind. All the passages become obstructed, and unless the obstruction is removed, the lamp of life soon dies out. These Pills not only purify the blood, but regenerato nil the secretions of the body ; they are, therefore, unrivaled as a CURE FOR BILIOUS DISEASES, Liver Complaint, Sick Headache, &c. This Anti Bilious Mediciue exnels from the blood the hidden seeds of disease, and renders all the fluids and secretions pure and fluent, clearingand resuscitating the vital organs. Pleasant, iudeed, is it to us, that we are able to place within your reach a medicine like the "Mountain Herb Pills," that will pass directly to the afflicted parts, through the blood and fluids of the laxly, r.ud cause the sufferer to brighten with, the flush of beauty and health. . Judson's Pills are the best remedy iu existence I for the following complaints : Bowel Couiuaint, Coughs, Colds, Chest Diseases, Costivenees, Dyspepsia, Diarrhoea, Dropsy, Debility, Fever and Ague, Female Cemplaints, Headaches, Indigestion, lutluenza, lutlammation. Inward Weakuess, Liver Complaints, Lowness of Spirits, Stoue aud Gravel, Piles, and Secondary Symptoms. GREAT FEMALE MEDICINE! Females who value health, should never be without these Pills. They purify the blood, remove obstructions of all Kinds, cleanse the skin of all pimples aud blotches, aud bring the rich color of health to the pale cheek. The plants and herbs of which these Pills are made, were discovered, In a very surprising way, among the Tezucaus, a tribe of Aborigines in Mexico. Get the Almanac of our Ageut, and you will read with delight the very interesting account it contains of the "Great Medicine" of the Aztecs. OBSERVE.
