====== RIVER ITEMS. ——— ARRIVED. Emma, Pittsburg Woodford, N O Arizonia, St Louis Lue Eaves, S Carrolton Kentucky, Memphis Tigress, Cin'ti Neptune, St Louis McLellan,. Louisville ——— Emma, Nashville Neptune, Pittsburg Arizonia, Pittsburg Woodford. Louisville Kentucky, Louisville Tigress, N O McLellan, Memphis ——— ——>The weather yesterday was pleasant. The river was falling slowing, but there is plenty of water for the largest boats. Between this point and Cairo there is between 6 and 8 feet water. There is considerable freight at this point for New Orleans, the greater portion of which will be taken by the <Montgomery>, to-day. ——>The <J. H. Done> will be here this morning from Cairo. She will be the regular packet for the south at 1 o'clock. Passengers and shippers should not neglect this opportunity. Capt. Lew Davis is in command, with our friend Billy List in the office. ——>Alf. Edwards, Clerk, of the <Bracelet>, left this morning for Louisville on the <Woodford>. We hope soon to see his boat in her old trade. ——>The Green river packet <Lue Eave> arrived last evening with a light freight list. She takes her departure this afternoon for South Carrolton and all way points.— Passengers and shippers will find her prepared to accommodate them in good style. ——>The most regular and prompt little steamer we know of is the <Alida>. She is doing a good business for her owners and this city, in bringing orders here to have them filled, and our business men should patronize her in preference to outside boats. She will be at the wharf this morning, and leave at 10 o'clock, precisely, for Cannelton and way places. ——>The <Silver Star> is the regular U. S. M. passenger packet this day at 1 o'clock, for Paducah and all way places. She is a superb boat and passengers would do well to get aboard early and secure rooms. The trio in the office will see that they are well cared for. ——>The <Woodford> passed up tht3 morning, at 7 o'clock, from New Orleans. She had but little freight, but her passenger list was large. ——>We are under obligations to Mr. JOHN H. SCOTT, mail agent on the steamer <Kentucky>, for files of late Memphis papers. ——>The favorite packet <Kate French> leaves this morning for New Albany, where she makes close connections with the Cincinnati mail boats, offering up river passengers the best opportunity possible. She is in charge of Capt. Caffrey, with Mr. Howe in the office. ——>We understand by a dispatch from New Albany that the <Montgomery> left that city yesterday. and will be here some time to-day. ——>The <Gen. Pike>, under the charge of Capt. Jones, is making regular trips from Memphis and White river, and doing a fine business. ——>The <Langley> has been placed in the Memphis and Napoleon trade as a semiweekly packet. ——>The <Tennessee Belle> has been tied up at the mouth of Wolf creek. ——>Mr. J Woolfolk retires from the clerkship of the <Moses McLellan>, after completing the present trip, and will be succeeded by Mr. W. F. Taylor, the present efficient freight clerk of the boat. ——>The Crescent City made the trip from New Orleans to St. Louis in five days and twenty-three hours, eleven hours lost time by fog and smoke. ——>There was a disturbance on the <Superior>, on Tuesday night, while she was at Madison. It was occasioned by a man trying to leave Madison without paying his board bill. The disturbance was quelled by the man and his baggage being put ashore. ——>The <City of Memphis> has gone on the docks, at Cairo, for repairs. ——>On the downward trip of the <Hickman> to Memphis, an Irish deck passenger fell overboard, and was drowned, while the boat was landing at New Madrid. ——>Capt. R. C. Gray has chartered the <Denmark> to Capt. McClain, to take the place of the <Bostona>, in the Portsmouth mail trade, during low water. ——>The Northerner has been withdrawn from the Hannibal and Keokuk trade, and gone on the ways a [sic] Carondelet. ——>The steamer <St. Francis No>. 2, was sold at Memphis, on the 9th, to Mr. Robert Neal, for the sum of $4,000 in cash. ——>The <Greenville> and <Gillum> are both due from Green river to-day. ———<>——— Indiana Conference Appointment. .Indianapolis District W C Smith, P.
