LoiilaviU Kate Prune, Henderson, Lue Bavee, Ocean K Tbe weather yesterday waa cloudy and damp. Tbe river at tbis point baa undergone considerable change since Saturday night. It has risen in all eight feet three inches, and is now stationary. Boats are very numerous, and business on tbe levee was rather lively. Tbe rise will probably not be of very long duration, as it baa commenced failing at all points above. The Tennessee and Cumberland are rising, and reports from St. Louis say all tbe upper rivers are doing likewise. Our friend Jo. O Riley, has again placed us under obligations for valuable river information. Such acta of kindness will sooner or later meet with their reward. Persons having any questions to ask concerning the river and boats, will receive gentlemanly treatment and prompt and reliable answers by applying to bim. Mr. Geo. Boitourt will please accept oar thanks for Bles of late Memphis and St. Louis papers. The river has compelled P. G. 0' Riley k Con to abandon their wharf boat. Stu- is now entirely deluged, and ber freights and stores have been removed, and the boat abandoned. She is entirely worthless, and, as she lays at our wharf, is com par ttively a nuisance. Her deck is covered w itb water, and a sufficient rise will carry awnv ber roof. Tbe favorite packet Charley Bowen, arrived here yesterday morning. She is not so badly crippled as tint people would like to have had her. She came off the log without breaking a plank, although aatffgj timbers were broken. She leaves to day nt ber regular time, and is one of the .fe-t ljtis on the river. She will take paciici.- and freight, delivering them at Cairo and immediate places, without .May. Owing to his in creasing business, Capt Outer lis- found it necessary to put her oh the ways for the purpose of widening ber guards and otherwise repairing her, so that when ahe'i-omes off, her admirers will hardly know her. She will remain on the wars, at Mound City, a week or ten days. Tbe excellent and punctual packet, Hatel Dell, Capt. Rees, will lie down from Louisville this evening, and take passtDgors through to Cairo in quick time. Mr. Richardson, a model Clerk and most clever gentleman, presides in the office. The halauce of ber officers are as near tbe right sort as folks ever set to be. PaMeuirera ran be ertain of a safe and agreeable trip on tbis line boat. The John Rome madt ber appearance at oar wharf last night. She looks as natural as ever, and will retain her enviable reputation. She proceeded to Louisville, and will be at our wharf again on Thursday. The V. P. Jhbbcrd and John Tomphhu west up yesterday, flying light, and were haviag a merry time on the trip ; when they left here tbey seemed to le trying their peed. The Tompkin was ahead, and holding ber own very well. Tbe Hibberd bad the mail belonging tc the John Oault, the latter boat not being 14 up to time." The On tie Garden leaves Cincinnati tbis afternoon, and will arrive here so as to leave on Friday. She is a good boat, and commanded by gentlemanly officers, and merits a liberal patronage. Tbis boat will, M soon as practicable, leave here on her regular days, and become a fixed fact. Tbe Interchange went down yesterday witb all the freight she could carry, having taken considerable store a at this plat e for Memphis. In making her landing, she .-wung around against tbe Matilda, breaking ber guard, and otherwise injuring ber. Tbe Katt French went up yesterday morning for Louisville, with a big trip of passengers, most of whom were persous going up to the Fair at New Albany. Her officers will pleases accept our thanks for favors received. Owing to some unavoidable delay, as we learn from Capt. Greer, the hull of the new S.'Uthsrn Bell will not lc launched until Saturday next Tbe Woodford passed tbis point, on ber way to Louisville, Sunday. She looked neat and clean, having undergone thorough repairs, and received an entire new cast of paint. She will be here Wednesday, bound for New Orleans. Tbe J. A. Wither left yesterday with a good trip of passengers, and a full load of brick. Tbe AUda will be down from Cannelton to-day. She has eutered regularly into her old trade. Tbe Trader arrived last night with a full cargo. She reports Pond river bank full. The Union was to leave Louisville yeaterday. If she did so, she will be due hero to-day, with her shingle up for Green river. Capt. Owen Davis has had tbe hull of tbe Delaware towed to Paducab, for the purpose of putting her on the ways, where she will Lie caulked and put in complete order for use as a wharf-boat. Two new boats, the Lafourche and Laurel ill, for tbe Southren trade, were taken over the Kails on Saturday in fine style by Capt. D. M. Dryden, Falls Pilot. Tbey will probably be at our wharf to-day. Tbe Teledraph No. 3, and Jaeob Stradtr have resumed their places in tbe trade between Louisville and Cincinnati. Tbe new boat Curie n-. just completed at Paducab, departed on her first trip on Thursday last. Her machinery worked wall, and everything alwut the boat gave comilete aatistaction. The hull of the -4vin Adame, whieh has tieeo Ijing ou the bar at Casey ville for sonic time, will probably get off during the preaent rise, and proceed on to her destination, Bayou Sara. The steamer Kate French left Louisville Sept. 24th, at 7 P. M. Boat in port JfoSSS McClelland, Laouehe, New Laurel Hill, Intercliange pre par iug to leave; had 100 cabin, and 10 deck passengers. River falling last. Pall two feet when we left. Met BuwUnj Green at Blue River Island on the 25th. Iaxel Dell at Cedar Branch, Poland at Concordia; boat unknown at French Island. CAPrilY. The GrennwUle arrived here yesterday, from Grren river. She found sufficient water to admit her going to Bowling Green. On Saturday, the MatiUla shipped all ber freight on the Proyrett. Capt. Boyd's new boat for the Nashville and New Orleaaa trade, is going ahead in fine styls at tbe ship yard or the Messrs. Howard, at Jeffersou villa. She will soon be ready to lan neb.
Tbe JIarmonia, an Illinois rivet boat, Druke ber shaft and lost her wheel ovorooard a few dajs since at Colnmbiana. The Common Council of Norfolk, Va., have rejected a resolution proposing that the Grtat Eastern Steamship, be invited to fiait that Ii.trU.r.)!! ber trip to America, an that the hospitalities of tbe city be extended to her captain and officers, should the invitation be accepted. The In, Eavet, Capt. McDonald's new lirtfo river toaf, took her leave last u.Rht. fShe ha.l a tftxxl trip, and we hope site will meet with abundant success.
