The Benecia Boy has made affidavit that he did not go to Syracuse to give his attention to the furtherance of the designs of Fernando Wood. In fact, he was not one of Wood's men. He went "out of curiosity," and had been offered money to oppose Wood, but did not take it. While at Syracuse, he was the guest of Marshal Rynders. A row occurred at the Turner Hall in Louisville on Wednesday night, among some outsiders and the Turners. Pistol shots were fired, and other rowdyism exhibited which resulted in the abandonment of the Hall by most of the inmates, who went out the back way. It is well worth a visit by the lovers of taste and the beautiful. The maiu gtairwny entrance from the street is broad and inviting to the ascent. It is open at all hours of the day, and till nine o'clock at night, and i3 then brilliantly lighted up with beautiful gas fixtures. Arrived upon tho second floor, you arc ushered into an elegant apartment which combines the purposes of a saloon, sitting-room, and gallery of art. Here you register your name in a lxok convonicntly arranged for that purpose, ret awhile, if you like, on tho comfortable sofas, and then look around at the pictures upon the walls. From the floor to the ceiling 13 hung an endless VI riety of portaits, life-size photographs in oil, colore ! photographs, nnjbrotype3, sun pictures, stereoscopic views, groups, scenes, landscapes, and every style and variety of pictures known to the art. After you have, of course, selected from the center table a caso in which to have your own pleasant features mapped out, you pull a tasselled cord which hangs by the second stairway and the tinkling of a little silver bell aliove brings down one of the smiling young men, who ushers you up nto the chief operating room.
