The Washington Union of Thursday last contains an articla on ths Tariff very moderate and liberal in its tone, indicating an important change in iu views. fiS?An extensive revival has been in progress during the past week in the M. E. Church at Mt. Vernon, resulting in the addition of a large number of members to that church. fi -All persons who were awarded diplomas and premiums at the South Western Agricultural District Fair, held this year at Vi neon nes, can be furnished with the same by calling at Hornbrook's Store, on Water street. ggy Never betöre has any article of merchandise - become so universally popular, or given such general satisfaction to our citizens, as the fine clothing from Devlin's, sold by our young friend Lyons. Lyons has now on hand a large stock of beautiful overcoats, that he is selling at remarkably low jrices, in order to close out his stock of heavy goods. 83L,0n Christmas day, at Mount Vernon, there is to be a Union Meeting of the farmers and stock raisers on the Kentucky and Indiana aide of the river, for the exhibition of stock. ; ; The Advocate says : The main object of the meeting is to give an impetus to the permanency of the Agricultural Society of Poley County. The best feeling prevails on the ether side of the river, and as it will be a friendly interchange of feeling. , We have often seen the same difficul ty in discovering the merits of a home pro duct, till it was seen abroad, under a foreign label, that is related in the anecdote af a New Albany merchant, who went to New York recently for a stock of goods, and among other purchases bought a fine lot f whetstones. They were highly recommended, and he had them duly shipped home, to be sold to sharpers of all sorts of edged tools. After being unpacked and examined by the seniors of the firm, it was discovered that the articles had actually been manufactured almost right under their renior's nose, at home, and. shipped off to tha eastern .market. As these gentlcmcu . have been variously reported by the newspaper press as massacred V . by " the Indians, " frozen in " at Pembina," " lost " on the prairies, and what not. rt, will be a comfort to their friends and acquaintances,' on both sides of the Atlantic, to know that they are safe and sound at Fort. Garry. ; , h5iIt is becoming; somewhat questionable whether the preaching- of the Rev. Mr. Hiscox, in the National Theater, New York city, on Sunday evenings, is likely to produce good. It is difficult to restraiu the untimely applause of the boys, some of whom because the exercises are in the theatre, seem to think that their approbation must be mAuifivitod by ute of the slang phrasee of the git. A nw era is taking place in the science of medicine. Tha time has come when the worst and most ' appalling cases of disease can be cared. New discoveries are being made "in the medicinal agents employed, as well as in the art of combining and preparing them. Four years' trial has fully established the fact, that Dr. Easterly's Family medicines are the best and most certain curatives known for the diseases for which they are recommended. Every family should keep a supply on hand, and thereby save doctor's bills, and inuch suffering. Dr. Easterly'! Iodine and Sarsaparilla, Dr. Carter's Cough Balsam, Dr. Easterly's Fever and Ago Killer, Dr. Hooper's Female Cordial and Dr. Baker's Specific are all meeting with a rapid sale and are universally approved. , Over One Hundred Thousand Dollars of these popular articles have been sold within tha last two years. Dr. Morse w as .1... tt .I.licl, tl... f,t flint nil ili s. s arise from IM PURITY OF THE BLOOD STj that our strength, health and life depended ui.o this vital fluid. A. J. WHITE A CO. Ml Leonrird Strwt, New York. DR. MORSE, the inventor of Morse's Indian Root Pill, has spent the greater part of his life in traveling, havinjr viiitHt Eiiropc, Asia and Africa as well as North America has spent three years among tho Indians of our Western country it was in this way that tho Indian Root Pills were first discovered. lr. Morse was the first man to Stab lih the tact that all dineases arise from 1 Ml'CRlTx OV THE BLOOD that our strength, health and life d-penued upon this vital num. When the various passages become clogged, and do not act in perfect hapuony with the different function:) of the body, the blood loses its action, becomes thick, corrupted and diseased, thus causing all pains, sickness and distress of every name; our strength is exhausted, our health wo are deprived ol, and it nature is uot aseisreu in tnrowing on ine staguant huinor, the bloed will become choked and ccaoe to act, and thus our light of life will be forever blown out. How im)ort.'uit then, that we should keep the various passages of the body free and open. And how pleasant to us that wo have it n our power to put a medicine in your leach, uamoly, Morse's ludiau Root Pills, uianufacturcd from lilante and roots which crow around the mountain ous i lilld in nature's (;ardoii, for the health and rejvery ot dideasiHl man. One ot the roots trom which these pills are wade is a sodoritic, whirh o)eua the Dores of the skiu, aiid assists uature in throwing out the nnt-r parts oi t no corruption witiilu. Tho seroiol is a plant which s an exirt'Ctorant. hat opens aud uuclogs the humors from the lung bv copious siiittinir. The third is a diuretic, which gives rae and double strength to the kidneys; thus encouraged they draw large amounts of impurity ln-ui the blootl, which is then thrown ont liouutilully by the urinary water passage, aud which could not "have been discharged in any other wav. The fourth is a cathartic, and acceinpauies the .lther properties of the pillr while engaged in purifying the blood; thu coarse! particles which canuot pass by the other outlets, are thus taken up aud cou veyed off in great quantities by the bowels. . From tlie above, it is shown that Dr. Morse's In dian Root Pills not only enter tha stomach, hut become united with the blood, for they And way toevery part, and completely rout out and cleanse the system torn all impurity, ana tne nie oi the body which is the Mood, becomes perfectly healthy; con sequently ail sickness and pain are driven from the system, for they cannot remain when the body be comes so pure and clear. The reason why people are so distressed when sick, and why so many die, is because they do not get a medicine which will pass to the afflicted parts, and which will ojen the natural passages, for tho disease to be c:ist out. honce a largo iinautity.o food aud other matter is lodged, and the stomach and intestines are literally overflowing with the corrupted muss, thus undergoing disagreeable fermentations, constantly mixing with the blood, which throws the corrupted matter through every veiu aud artry, until life is taken from the body by disease. Dr. Morse's Pills liave added to thtui selves victory upon victory, by restoring million o the sick to blooming health and happiness. Y es, thousand who have been racked or tormented with sicknesB, pain and anguish, aud whose feeble franio have been scorched bv the burning elements of ra ging fever, and who have been brought as it weie withiu a step of the silent grave, now stand ready, to testify that thuy would have bueu number J with th ileaii, had it not been for this great aud won-, derful medicine, lr. Morse's Indian Kool Pills. ; After one or tun dowa had been taken, tliey were mloiiiaht',l and alist'lutely surprised, in witneSbil g their sm rising elht-ts. Not only do they give ilu mediate easu and strength, and take awy all sick iiess, paiu and anguish, but Uiey at once go to work at the foundation of the disease, which is the blood. Therefore, it will lie shown, eseciully by those who iwe these Pills, that they will so cleanse and purity that di n that deadly enemy will take its flight, and the, flush of youth jind beauty will agaiu return, and the pronpoct of a long and happy life will cherish and brighten your days.
