Julia Smith, a professional thief, tvas arrested in Cincinnati u few days ago, and under her hoops were found carefully stowed, three towels, two table cloths, one looking glass, three tumblers, one pair of pants, and a great bottle of Maderia [sic]. ———<>——— ——>The Southern Commanders are about organizing a thorough line of ten passenger steamers one of which will leave Cincinnati and New Orleans every Wednesday and Saturday punctually, at the advertised hour. ———<>——— ——>Green river is again navigable, and several boats have been up to Bowling Green. The arrival of the Gillum and Greenville is reported by the Bowling Green papers. The Bracelet has been repaired and repainted, and is in perfect order for the winter trade. She is one of the crack boats in the line. ———<>—— ——>The river is rising at this point, and several of the larger class of boats have passed down. If the river should continue to rise for a few days, navigation will be fully resumed. The popular Southerner, of the Louisville and Memphis line, after being repainted and overhauled, has resumed her trips, with her old officers, Triplett and Archer, at their respective posts. These gentlemen are well known as accommodating and efficient boatmen, and will continue to command the patronage of shippers and passengers in a trade which they 'have contributed so largely to build up. ———<>——— Ait Indiana Sont h- estero Agricul tural Society The officers of this Society held a meeting at Vincennes on Saturday last, to close the business connected with the Fair held last month, at the " old post." Though much was done, much still remains to be done to complete the business of the last and prepare for the next fair. The final list of awards was made out, end we learn our mechauics receded their full meed of merit. It was resolved to hold the April meeting In this city, and the Corresponding Secretary was instructed to give notice to the County Socicties to elect delegates to meet in this city on the 2d Tuesday in April next, for tho purpose ef electing officers. The cases have been removed to the Baltimore County Court, where they will, no doubt, find speedy justice.Nf.w York, Nov. 8 p. m. A bill has been introduced into the legislature of this State providing for the repeal of the clause in the State Constitution prohibiting the importation of Africans. Boston, Nov. 8 p. X. Captain Iodson, late Captain of the brig Isle Decnp, which recently arrived here in charge of the mate, was arrested at New Bedford yesterday, and brought to this city for examination on a charge of engaging in the slave trade. Portland, Jfe, Nor. 8 p. m. A cattle train sn the Grand Ti tk railroad ran off the track to-day, near Glenccster, killing .Mr. Ilazleton, the engineer, and slaughtering a large number of cattle. Washisgtok, Nov. 8 x. Gen. Walker's business here isnot directly with the government. It is in part to ascertain the extent of the proposed British interference in Xiearaguan affairs. He is satisfied that it will be no hindrance to a lawful immigration to Nicaragua. He denies the truth of thi statement that there has been a sale of bonds of the transit route, and hence that part of the President s proclamation must have been founded on incorrect information. He further says that passengers leaving .Mobile are exiiccted to pay theirown expenses and acton theirown responsibility. The immigration is under the auspices of the Southern En. ignttion Company, which has been in existence for six months, aud has branches in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgi.i. There is no clashing of interests bstween it and the Central Company. General Walker will probably leave for Mobile to-morrow, though it is not curtain that he will go out with the first party to Nicaragua. Washington, Nov. 8 m A private letter from Galveston, of the 2'Jth of October states that the yellow fever Wits milking fearful ravages. .Six physicians had died. The writer advises absentees not to return till the 11 of December. There has been no frost. Warm weather has fatally increased the disease. The .steamship Gt neril Kusk arrived at New Orleans ou the 1st iust., and brings information Irom Northern Mexico.
