Fatal ArrnAY. On Vednesday morning at Louisville, a dispute arose lictween (.'apt. Eli Vunick!c, an old and well known laatinan the owuer of the steamer John Jicll aud Mr. Nndal a well known Iwat builder of Louisville. The dispute legan nl)out some repairs which Nadal had made to the steamer Bell. High words rnued, and finally the lie was given, when Capt. Vn- struck Mr. Nadal and knocketl him town; upon which the son of Mr. N a young man, who was present, gave the Cap tain a blow on the head with a stick of wood and he fell against Mr. Nadal, who inflicted on him two or three more blow with his fist. After they were separated, Capt. Vnnsickle walked home and did not appear to be seriously injured, till aliout noon, when he suddenly became very silk and died before night. Mr. Nadal and his son were both arrested and committed to prison. PostOfkice Management. The follow ing official letter to one of the employees of our jKjst oHkc, came legitimately into the liands of a citizen, who has communicated it to us for publication. It explains the origin of the constant irregularities and delays in the transmission of our tunil mutter. The letter we presume accompanied a large package of letters that had levn mis-tent. Wc publish it, to arouse our oflicials to increased attention to their legitimate duties. They are evidently too much ubsorWd in the present canvas, and have their thoughts too iutcnsely rirctel upon the wavering fortunes of Niblack and Hovey to properly discharge their official duties. The letter is from a distributing office, and reads thus: f Septcm1cr 2, 1858. "Thi matter should have gouc Xortk iftt'rday. 1 noticed particularly, and tvtry oHf ot these ackages came to us in the Evantiille bat, uifhr lrn lock this occurs often. Every day, uorc or less matter is put off here, that should go on. I know you have been running long enough to get thoroughly posted up ; and, moreover, that YOU are well poftrd; but there is something wrong below. The distributing clerk in the Evansvil'.e office had better quit the ntn for a "PrEix" and attend a geography school, and be confined to one State, tiz, Isdiasa. Don't you y c urs truly, Jtc think i? As ever JVe omit the names but give the italics as fhey are underscored in the original. Mr. Uudd hits recently had $750 granted him by rthc Department to employ an extra clerk . . he must hare made a bad appropriation of the fund. If the facts slated in the com plaint are true, we agree with the writer that the employee had, certainly "better uit for a spell," at least, till he learns the geography of Indiana. prr We invite the attention of the sick and afflicted, to the advertisements in our columns of Dr. Easterly's Iodine and SarsayarUIa, andGridley's Salt Rheum and Tct.er Ointment, Dr. Carter I Cough Balsam, Dr. Baker's Specific, Dr. Hooper' Female Cordial, and Dr. Easterleyvs Fever and Ague Killer. These medicines are prepared by a thoroughly educated Physician, Chemist and Pharmaceutist, so that all can rely upon thorn as being safe and effectual in curing the diseases for which they are recommend cd. They are standard remedies, and can be found in nearly ever j Draj and Apothc arv lore in the Vniteo State.
