THURSDAY MOKNINCv. ... JfLY 8 See Kirnt Wnd Fourth Pagr for IntrreftUiig Ueaullng Matter. tTj,'We understand that a German fell on J?tconl stret-t yc?tcrLij afternoon from the t-ffects of a sun stroke, but did not learn whether or not he recovered. We deäire to call attention to the card of Mr. D. G. Fowlkb, published in another column. Iii little steamer ii now phing between I'lulucah and thii pUt-, and we have no doubt Mr. Fowler Will attend promptly to all the business entrusted to his care. Sells land warrants on time to those who wish to locale them. Sells Fiht drafts on fcnghind, Ireland, and Scotland, in sums to suit. Bank on First street, hfcar Mairit pgjTA fre?h supply cf Devlin's fine linen and alpacca coats will be received at Lyons' this evening, by express. Lyons has a large stock of fine shirts, and other furnishing goods ; nd makes tp Handsome garments to order, in short notice, which he will warrant to give perfect satisfaction in all case. CSS The United States Hotel, at Cincinnati, is one of the quietest and best houses in which it was ever our good pleasure to stop. The accommodation of every kind arc of the very best, and the proprietors. Hare no pains in making their guests comfortable, whil they sojourn in the Queen City. We recommend to all anxious for good fare and not exorbitant bills, to stop at the United States. UafTlvi Scientific American says that the simplest and cheapest way to cool a room, is to wet a cloth tff any size, the larger the better, and suspend it in the place you want cooled ; let the room be well ven tilated, and the temperature will sink from ten to twenty degrees in less than an hour. Dujing such a torrid term as we hare hud, this would be worth trying: KaJTBy referring to our advertising columns it will be seen that the Southerner has changed her times for leaving Louisville and Memphis, and, in consequence paes bur tity ou different days. She now leaves Louisville on Wednesday, going down, and passes our city Thursday noon. Going un, the leaves Memphis on Saturday, passing here on Monday at 2 o'cldck. The friends of the Southerner, of which she has many, will bear this change in mind and make their arrangemenü adcohliflgly. Snnday School Celebration. Several of the Protestant Sunday Schools of this city projose to unite in a union cele bration and pic-nic next Saturday It was designed to be held on the 3rd of Die mouth, but owing to the absence of the band, and for other reasons, it was postponed. The procession will be formed at the Ingle street church, and proceed thence to the Dttplist r Dutch, on Clarke street, and thence up Second street to the grove beyond GoodaeH's enlargement, where" will be several addresses delivered, plenty jf good music, and an nbuudancc of refreshments for the children. We wish our young friends a day full of enjoyment. The Fourth iu our Sister Cities. We should judge, from the reports in our exchanges, that the Fourth was no "great shakes," after all, 9C fir as Indiana is con cerned. In Indianapolis, no effort vhatever was made towards having a general celebration. The military and firemen, with their bands, paraded a Utile, each company on its own hook, but further than that nothing was done. The papers inti mate, that on the nest " Fourth," there will be a celebration in that city worthy of It In Richmond, a great ftiss was made about what was going to be done, though, from the report, we think it did not fully come up to the expectations of those inter csted. Indianapolis was the only city that was represented in Richmond, and the Journal says, had it not have been for the Indianapolis military and fire companies present, the w hole thing would have proved a failure. In tAöil of the otlie r cities the di.-poiition to have a regular jollification, seems to have died out. For years we have noticed, that it seems much harder work to get up a eel ebration, than it was in former times. "We do not know that this result is to be attribut ed to any lack of enthusiasm more probably it is owins to the "sameness" in the "manner of celebrating that day. In Cincinnati, the Commercial says they . had quite a display. Flags were hung out ail over the city, bells were runir, cannon fired, and everything appeared in its holli day dress. A fine procession, composed of the military and fire coftipinfcs of the city, marched through the principle streets, lion. Geo. E. Pugh, was the orator. TL music Cost $900. Cüt few of our exchanges give any account of any celebration whatever, and, taking it all in all, we should say, the Fourth was less generally ohserved iu the Wejt, than is common. 5S,A company called the " Hundred Associates " has been organized in Lawrence, to encourage the manufacturing. The Audover Advtrtittr says, that on Monday of last week, the Trustees were instructed to erect forthwith a brick building on the coiner of fcsstx and Franklin streets, 100 feet long, 60 feet wide, four ftories high. The rooms will be 25 by 60, and furnish ample accommodations for at least four nnuifactories. The stock has all beti taken tip at one hundred dollars per share. The company do -ot expect direct income from their invertpent for five years, and will present strong inducements for manufacturer to establish &c,elr:5 ia Isz'x. !:;::- A it

Jr. .Morse wa. the first man to etah!bdi the f.tct that all diseasiui fjim IMP! KIT! tK TIIK LtK'1 that our strength, health ami life depended uin this vital fluid. A. J. WHITE A CO. M Leonard Street, New York. 1R. MORSE, the inventor of MorVa Indian Root Tills, luis spent the greater art of his life in traveling, having visited Euro', ni and Africa as well a 'North America lots ipi nt thn- years among the Indians of our Western country !t was In this way that the Indian Root Pills -rire f.fnt disci'vereil. lr. Morse was the first man to etabliKh the fact that all diseaw arise from IMPURITY OF THE BLOOD that our strength, health and life dct, ended upon this vital fluid. When the various passages become clged, and do not act in perfect harmony with the difl'erent function' of the body, the blood lose Its action, becomes thick, corrupted and diseased, thus causiug all wins, richness and distrees ,of every name; our strength is exhausted, our health we are deprived of, and if nature is not assisted in throw ing off the stagnant humors, the blosd will become choked and ctne to act, and thus our light of life 111 be forever blown out. How important then, that we should keep the various passage of the body free and (? pen. And how pk-asant to iu that we have It in ouir power to put a medicine in youreeach. namely, Morse's Indian Root Pills, manufactured from plants and root which grow around the mountainous cliffs Sn natureV garden, for the health and recovery id diseased man. On of th? roots from which these pilU are made is a sodorific, which opens the por'i.n "t the tkin, and asriHts natur iu throwing out the finer parts of the corruption within. The second is a plant which is an expectorant, that oji ns aiid unrhgs the humort from the hi up by dpiod rittttiiig. Tie third ia a dfitretic, wliich gives ease and doutde strength to te kihieyn; thus encouraged they draw large arüou'htj of iinpurity from the blood, which is thrri thrown oüt bouulifully by the urinary water postage, aäl which could not have l-n discharged in any other way. The fourth is a .cat hart h and accompanies the other properties of the pills w hile engn,7r j iu purifyiug the blood: the coencr pari '"-loa which cannot pasx by the other outlets, are thus taken up and conveyed off in great quantities by the bowels. From the above, it is ahowuthat Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills not only enter tl.e stomach, but become united with the blood, for they find way toevcry part, and completely rout out and cleanse the system from all impurity, and the life of the body which is the blood, becomes perfectly healthy; consequently all sickness and pain are driven from the sylem, for they cannot remain when the body become m pure and clear. The reaxou why people are so digressed when sick, aud why so many die, is because they do not get a medicine which will pass to the afflicted psrts, and which will open the natural passage for the d a-ase to be cast out, hence a large quantity of f kk! and other matter is lodged, and the stomach and intestines are literally overflowing with the corrupted mass, thus undergoing disagreeable fermentations, constantly mixing with the blood, which throws the corrupted matter through every vein and artery, until lift- is taken from the body by disease. Dr. Morse'a Pills have added to tbemsclves victory npou victory, by restoring million of the sick To blooming hnaltl) end happiue. ly, thousands' who hao feejt racked or tormented with sickness, path and anguish, ahd whose feeble frames have heen searched Ly the burning elements of raging fever, aiid who Hsyif be. ri brought as it were, within a sb'p cf the ell. ut. grave, now stand ready to testify that they would have been numbered with the dead, bad it hat been for this great and wonderful lucdicide. Therefore, it will be shown, especially by those who use these Pills, that they will so cleanse and purify thai disease that deadly enemy will take its flight, aud the flush of youth and beauty will again return, and the prospect of a long and happy life will rbcrish and trightca your days.
