Evans villc and Pad u call Pcakct IJne. A TESTIMONIAL We, the business men of Evansviillc, deeply regret that for the present that the trade between Kvansville aud Paducah has proven insufficient to Support a semi-weekly boat, whereby it hag bten .und necessary to extend the Line to the mouth of the Ohio, until there shall be, from the extension of the Paducah Railroad or other source, sunie additional through or local business for such Line. Under this disappointment and all o hor disouragemcnts incident to the steamboat inte est, during the past season, we feel that we cannot too highly commend the ability, energy and perseverance of Captain D. It. Heruox and his brother officers, and proprietors of the steamer J. II. Done, by which they have thu3 far overcome all obstacles and kept their boat in this Line. A Line which after strong and repeated efforts on 0'ir part, noDe but themselves were willing to take the liak of starting. We embrace this occassion to tender our hearty and grateful thanks to tho citizens and buisncss men of Paducah and Smithland, and other points, who co-operated with us in the support and encouragement of this enterprise. And we now in view of the past gentlemanly and honorable course, and of the opposition which they have met and still will encounter, hereby promise and pJeJgc to Captain IIekbon and associates our hearty encouragement and business support against all opposition: Tcnney &.
