07- Anj smirt young fellow, wanting the place, will find an airertiseracnt in oar columns for a Porter to a large and popular hotel. (r-The special religious raeotings in the different churches in this citj have been d scontinued. The prayer meeting in Crescent City Hall, is still kept up, but is not largely attended. The Patiliox Hotel is undergoing a most thorough re notation, by its new proprietors, Messrs. Bingham & McCrackcn, who will open it about the first of June, under such auspices as will make it, we are confident, the most popular house between Cairo and Louis i!Ie. - The change in the railroad time table will be especially convenient for those going to Indianapolis. By the present arrangement passengers leaving here at 9 a. m., arrive at the capital in time for tea and can either go on at night or wait for thjfc early morning trains of the following day. fj7" The weather within the past fortnight, has been unprecedented in this climate. It has rained every twentyfour hours, and between the showers we have had piercing winds, belonging properly to November. As a natural consequence, many persons arc suffering with colds, and we understand that the whoop ing cough prevails to a very general extent among the children. At the present writing there is no prospect of any change for the better in the weather. änderbarst. County Agricultural and Horticiillural Society. Evansvillk, May 1, 1S33.
