The EanvilIo Library Association is phased to acknowledge the receipt, from DaViJ Dale Oen,of the GevLyical Sartey of L'tntucly, in three volumes, with the accompanying maps; also from . K. Hill, Purtons Li4 of Aaron Burr. JNO. W. FOSTEE, Cor. Sec. The Fitcrr. We learn from all our Tuitors from the surrounding country, that the blossoms and fruit of tho peach, apple, cherry, and grape vine, were all destroyed by the frost on Monday night. Only a few trees that were protected by buildings or stood in the shade of the forest were but partially, injured. On all others the fruit seems to have been entirely cut off, and our hopes of rich treats from the orchards during the coming summer, are blasted. In some places immediately on the river, a few trees hare apparently escaped. ' 31 Ua Dora Khaw, After playing a week's engagement at our Theatre, has gone and left us with the strongest impressions of her talents, and convictions of her future eminence as an actress. Study discipline of her erratic and impulsive genius and an undistracted devotion to her profession, will be certain to secure her a rank among the brightest stars upon the stage. She has the mental and physical powers of a great actress. Her conceptions are just, critical, and chaste. IJer powers of delineation enable her to express all that she feels and conceives. The applause and encomiums that have followed each . mm representation are proots Ol her success here, and that she is already a great favorite with our citizens. Wc learn'with a pleasure that she will return after a few week's absence and play another short engagement, and we are sure she will be received with greater favor and success than on her recent visit.
