Wilson, of Mas.., on leave introduced a joint solution., that the President bo and is hereby authorized and required to suspend for one jeär, the sale of the public lands advertised to be sold in tho Territory of Kansaa during the month of July, 1S5S. Mr. Mallbry reported, without amendment, from the Committee on Naval Affairs, a bill to repay $750 for repairs of the Norwegian bark, Ellen, for damages sustained in receiving the passengers of the Central America. Mason introduced a resolution authorizing the Ptesident to take such measures against Paraguay as the refusal of that Republic to Wake reparation for firing Into the atcaracr Water Witch, may demand.
