The Fcneral Ceremonies at the interment of Col. Denton, at St. LouU, on Friday, wera Terj imposing, and express ive of the deep grief of the community. On the arrival of his remains on the Illinois shore cppoiite St. Louis, they Jvcre taken in charge by a committee of citizens, and escorted by two military companies, and wero conveyed to the house of his relative, Col. Brant. From there the body was subsequently conyeyed by ,a. procession of citizens and military .with aptircpYicte . marshal mu -pic, to the large Hall of the Library As3ciation, which was clraned arid festooned with the usual badges of mourning, the coffin, enshrouded in the national ensign, was placed beneath the hrge chandelier, in the centre of.thb rcorr upon a square platform, at tho corners of which stood four folded flags, hüüg with crape, which connected them overhead, and formed an impressive canopy. The lighted lamps, likewise festooned, shone with ä mild, soft light above tho dead, and heightened the mournful effect. Here a nlilitlry company kept guard over the remains daring tho day and night of Thursday. The corp?e was in a metalic, air tight sarcophagus, enclosed in a rich mahogany case, and was in a rcmarkablo state of preservation. The countenance was risible through the glass. An immense throng of ladies and gentlemen ( crowded the room to get a last look at the features of the deceased Statesman. The face, though of course emaciated and pale, wore a look of unusual calmness and serenity, showing that life made its exit gently and tranquilly. On Friday, the day of interment, all places of business were closed. The re mains were taken to the Presbytcrfcn church, and a eulogy pronounced before an immense throng within and without the church. The funeral procession was composed of a vast concourse of citizens. of the volunteer military companics-fthe firemen the various commercial, mechanical and charitable associations of the city to which wa3 aided the imposing array Of the whole of the Seventh Keiment of tha U.
