J5?Mr. Erastus Willard, aged 23 years, brother of Gov. Willard, died in New Orleans on the Sd in:., and was berried at that place on Tuesday last. He was a young man of brillant promise. Ho had been educated by the Governor and an inmato of his family for several years. Tho event Is a sad afflic tion to Gov. Willard. An unusually strong attachment existed between the brothers. All that fraternal affection could suggest had been done. Tho wants of the brother had always been supplied, no matter what the sacrifice. He was upon the threshold cf what appeared to be a bright, a promising and a useful future. Mi?s Dora Shaw. Many of our citizens who knew this lady a few years ago as a bright dashing bello of Vincennes, and who have since watched with Interest, her rapid rice to professional fame, will be highly gratified to learn tha. they are to have an opportunity to witnesa an exhibition of hor talents. She Is now one of the most expiring and talented actrctscs on the Western boards. Her Camilla and Evadue are not surpassed by any actress in the country; and in St. Louis and Louis ville excited the-warm-est commendations of ' the "ctitica. and the highest admiration of her audiences. She is accompanied by Mr. Charles Carroll, who U a gentleman of high professional merit, and has won a reputation in California, and has been connected, during tho past winter, with Crisp's Varieties in New Orleans, which fact, is of itself, a cirtificate of professional talent. She will be down this afternoon, and proceed to Henderson, whero she will lay over until to-morrow, when she will retnrn to Louisville. Her officers are clever, and her accommodations superb. The William Dickson struck: a hidden roclc in the Tennessee river, at New Portland landing, about 100 miles above tho mouth, on last Monday. She sunk in shoal water, but was afterwards got afloat, and is now at Padttcah, undergoing repairs. CoxrLiMOTABY.
