lnfcIDE.Tis MESSAGE. . Our telegraphic reports this inormng contain a synopsis of the Message, which will give our readers a clear idea of its tono and views on the leading sul jects. It is as full a report as most readers will be in luced to read. The Message was received at Cincinnati and Louis
Tille last night at nine o'clock. Xo copy was forwarded to this city, in adTance of its delivery. On the subject of the Kansas constitution, the Message goes the full length of endorsing the doings of the 'Lccotnpton Convention. , In thU matter, it has taken a bold stand. CUMsiisV99lu.-i.iss . Banks, of Virginia, who run for Clerk of the last House, aspires to a share 1 a I of the profits of this immense jod, anu Major Heiss, of the States, proposes to divide it up into moderate lots, and distribute it around among such deserving Democrats as him 'elf, Sheenan, of tho Chicago Times, Walker of the Cincin-1 nati Enquirer, Greene of the Boston Post, and others ; but the Southern Democracy will adhere to its time-honored practice of plundering the treasury for the benefit of a grand central organ ; therefore, llarris will probably, bo the chosen for both 'Houses.? The profits of the printing are said lobe from $500,. 000 to $000,000, which is supposed to be shared by combination by whose influence the election of printer is secured, and among thoso who participate in the job secretly are honorable members of Congress. Help from the East. Efforts are making at Henderson, Mt. Vernon and other places, to procure domestic help from the Eist. The principal objection to all the engagements proposed, is to advancing the passage money by the employers withoat any guarantee of its re. payment in case tho help do not fullfil their p ut of the engagement, or are not fitted for the ser?i:e which they are to perform. The Rev. Mr. Cole of this city, and other gentlemen have received propositions to furnish tho help and attend to their tranpoi tation West, on condition that twelve dollars per head should be remitted to some person in New York. Mr. George Flowers, in a communication to the Mt. Vernon Advo cate. proposes to form an association in that town, and appoint an agent to at tend to the business. He says Tosey county alone, would take one thousand persons, for male and female help. He says "almost every family in town are complaining of want of help, and almost all the farmers say they want a min or boy. The risk is so small and the ad vantage so great, if there is any real want, the opportunity I think will be embraced. I have had some experience in the matter, by paying the passage of a creat many laborers, male and female, from England where the expense and risk was much greater than here. They almost all paid me faithfully the loss was about one in twenty-five." ---<>--- COL. SUMNER, the hero of the Plains of the last summer, has recently been on trial by a Court Marshal [sic] at Fort Leavenworth, and has been suspended from rank and pay for four months. Gen. Scott has confirmed the sentence, but remitted the penalty. The nature of the charges is not made known. Some dif. ficulty has occurred in relation to the Court Marshal [sic], between Col. Sumner and Maj. Deas and Gen. Harney, and Sumner will now prefer charges against the other two gentlemen. ---<>--- ----->The investigation of the accounts of Mr. Samuel Lawrexce, the gentle man who proved a defaulter for half a million of dollars to several Massachu setts manufacturing 'companies, hasdis closed some startling facts, it appears that $85,000 bad been expended by these corporations "to securt favorable legisla Hon from the last Congress?' in other language that sum had been used in bribes, and for a part of the amount, it is said, there is a receipt for $10,000 signed
