The fever excitement has entirely subsided. Two or three mild cases were reported yesterday in the vicinity of Fort Hamilton. Secret Convention. Pittsccro, Sept. 2. Last night a delegation of 53 left in the 10 o'clock Eastern train for some Convention un. known. The objects were kept perfectly se cret, but as they were ticketed to Lancaster, it is supposed they have gone to attend the State Council, held there to-day. The Fill more Americans here are greatly excited. They surmise the object is to procure the en dorsement of Fremont, and the repudiation of Fillmore by the Council. They pronounce the delegation spurious, representing disbanded Councils in this and other counties, and all residents of Pittsburgh and Alleghany cities. From H nhitist.ni. Washington, Sept. 2. Secretary Dobbin left the city this morning for North Carolina. He will be absent one month. Chas. W. Welsh, chief clerk of the department, has been commissioned as acting Secretary of the Navy during the absence of Mr. Dobbin. The treaty which our government has been requested by the Dominition Government to return, was said to be made by Mr. Elliott with Bobadillo, a mulatto, who was forced into the Senado Consulto by foreign influence, in order, it is represented, to defeat the treaty
