Th firm is composed of excollcnt mechanics and hard - working men, and they can, certain! turn out at - least as good work and at as low prices, a any other foundry establishment in this region of tJotintrr. Their offico ii in that Splendid building pC rMr. Schriber's, at the, corner of First and Piyjsion streoU, which 7a calls tho "House of Correction." It is a good place for an office, and wquld make an : excellent foundry estabiishment or insa.no asylum but at present the owner is using it for a "house of . correction" fof the particular casa'of insanity which deteloped .itself in $ä erection of that house! But we will do him the justice to say, that appearances, aside,' there ia no, more comibrtabla "dwelling1 house 5 in EransYilla.. He call, it the "house of correction'! from tho following T, AVhen it was first erected, we wrote rather 4 satirical notice of the new and queer booking building, and was rather desirous of .Jöwwin what it had . been built for. Our assistant töld friend Schriber we waatcd to know what kind of a house it was. . 4 " v ?TblI Sanders,'1 said the old foundry hero, 4tthat if I catch him in thin house' he will find i it ia a hoiut cf eorrettion!" " T " Well all we can say is, that the office of (he foundry ia there, and any order left there will be promptly attended to. I - Bodiax Coal Mines.- These coal mines, just below Evansville, are again in operation. An engine house haa been erected over the puachincry, and the machinery itself put in good running order. s The scaffolding over the si aft is again up. Mr. Kersteman with his foreman, manufactured a large fiat rope, to answer the place of a better one, till the new rope. arrives from England. The engine is jtow puffing away lively. fjr"Thö weather yesterday morning was Varan and blustering, the wind blowing furiouely for a time.
