For a great many years there has been a regular packet boat plying between this city and Evansville, under the command of Capt. Hoi- . croft. This has net only been a matter of convenience to the residents of the two extreme points, but especially to the people o. the various towns and landings all along the shore. It has also developed a very large and constant increasing trade; bringing tö this city theproduc'sof the fruitful river bottom lands, and drawing the passenger business to this city. Thus, not only has Evansville and LouisviUc been profited ty the regularity and promptness ot this packet, but . every rtkident, merchant, larmer and shipper on ; the river, between the termini of thf line, has been greatly benefited. In the mpport of this line, there should be a general interest manifested. . Upon tbe part of Capt.
