D. county, was present, tn brought out by his j Greathouse, of Posey and as Mr. G. had been friends as a candidate for the State Senate : in opposition to Col. Drew, to represent Vanderburgh and Posey counties, he presumed the people would like to see him. Mr. Greathouse was then introduced. He is a gocd looking and intelligent looking man, probably quite os much so as his opponent! He was received by the crowd very warmly. Drew, but finding that such was not Ihe case, and being earnestly solicited by his friends, he had submitted his name to the people. He was not accustomed to public speaking. All these accidents occurrei between Louisville and Evansville. On her return trip from St. Lou s, as announcd in last Saturday's Journal, Ihe Rescue strck a snag below Henderson. She did not etirely sink as reported. But she arrived kcre Saturday morning in nearly a sinking cudition, having about two feet water ii her hold. CCy It is very gratifying that so bitterly opposed to Judge Hall as is the Enqurer, it can find nothing more serious against him, than that the views he is said to entertain on a question which has nothing to do wih the present canvass, or with a representitive's duties in Congress, do not suit the edtor of that paper.
