The telegraph wires were again up lagt Saturday between Evansville and Louisville. Rising at Louisville rapidty n Friday, and large boats crossing the Falls. , .. i i c , The Chancellor arrived here Satur-, day morning from St. Louis, in the packet line rather a queer position for that notable New Orleans craft. She was taking the i place of the defunct Pike. We thank her officers for a large psckage of papers. Some of the Cincinnati and New Orleans boats have hi I tip on account of dull times and scarcity of freight. There has been a heavy rise 1.1 the Mississippi, but it waa falling on Friday last, tn a goo : stsge. -Six feet rise reported in the Illinois river. The regular summer line between St. Louis and La Salle has been formed. There are five fine boats in it, making regular daily trips. The Fawn arrived from I.ouiiville here last Saturday a'ternoon in good time. She deposited good deal of freight here before she prepared to return. A good many persona were awaiting her arrival to take passage to Louiaville. The Fawn is a great accommodation gonerally. lCXl'MAXCE, fl l Alf K MOTU TAHLE, COHKKl.TKD lII.V l' H TIIK iOfRVSI.
