If our friends in the country want to see a big river, they had better come within view of the Ohio before it materially subaides. AN ACT t) amend the Charter of the E vansville and Illinois Railroad Company. APPROVED MARCH 4, 1853. Wm8Jg it l,ns been represented to the f,rt.stnt General Assembly that pursuant to the proviions of section 27 of the "act to incorporate the Wabash Railroad compiny," approved February G, 1851, the several companies organized under the "act to incorporate the Evansville and Illinois railroad company," have consolidated their charters and have become one company, subject to the liabilities and privileges of the said several charters, and in and by their act of consolidation have adopted the name of the Evansville and Illinois Railroad Company as their corporate name. Therefore, Section 1. Be it enacted by th General Assembly of the State of Indiana, That the actings and doings of said several compajnies, in all the steps whereby their consolidation into one united compan' did become ,.insummatedf be nnd thrJ,e js nerebv confirmed and made valid and effectual to IgJ intents and purposes, and that all the sections and provisions of the several chsirters so consolidated, and the amendments in force shall be applicable, and of whole line from Evansville to Craw fords ville, in the s:ime manner, and to the same extent, as if the same had been originally! embodied in a isialil charter for the whole line afres ,id. Bsc. 2 That the corporate name and ! style of said company, as adopted in the' act consolidating said several companit , is hereby changed, and henceforih the said I com)any shall be called and known by Iba BMsMol the Evansville and Crawfordsviile Railroad Company, and by that name and style shall sue and be sued, plead and j be impleaded, and do all acts and things, and in and by that name the saidcompanv shall be held liable for all contracts and engagements, and for all acts made or done by the said several companies, before the said act consolidating the same, nnd before Ibis act hall come to be in force, and all mon (, property, rights, credits, privileges, nnd interest ac iu'reJ or DOfloaaaa 1 bv said several comp mies before their consolida-; tion or alterwards, and before the publication an. 1 acceptaoceof this act, shall belong to and be possessed by said consolidated company, in and by the name and style of the Kvansviile and Crawfords ills Railroad Company, in the same manner and to the same extent, to all intents and purposes, as the same did belong to and was possess, ed by the said sev ral companies respectively, and as if the name adopted on consolidation had not been herebv eh iDffed.
