He has permitted two member of his Cabinet, at least, to ue his name, express opinions and dictate action in his name, and thus has been criminated to two directly opposite positions, either of which he miht not honorably occupy as President of a people, whatever he might as ; President of a party. He appears lo have lost all eight of national affairs, to give hi personal su; ervision, through certain Secretaries, to State factions. He has degraded the high position he occupies, more honorable than monarchial throne, to dabble in State politic; and lot the respect of those who were earnestly seeking to cultivate an aflvc. tion for the man, who, however undeservedly occupied the position of Cnief Ruler of this great Republic. Thi. m.y be called incompetency or weakness. There should certainly be some wor l in the English language to signify his unfitness for the elevated place he so unfortunately occupies, and probably we have mistaken the word.
