Z." of New York, bound for Liverpool, was burnt at sea. The crew was saved. It ia rumored that Prince Napoleon is to marry the daughter of Christiana of Spain, and be King of Mexico. A risingr is expected at Canton. A serious conspiracy has been discovered at Vienna, and fifty students have been arrested. Philadelphia, Aug. 8. In the Third District, Ashe, Dem., is elected: Baffin, dem., is also elected. In the Fourth, Bogers. Whig, is elected by 67 majority over Venable and Lewi, democrats a whig gain. Nothing reliable from the other districts. Nashville. Aug. 8. In 25 counties the Democrats claim a net gain of 1000; the Whigs adnvt a loss of 200 only. The result fur G overnor is doubtful The whigs have gained one Congressman as far as heard from. Pittsburg, Aug. 8, M. There are 4 feet water in the channel and at a stand. Tennessee Election. A gentleman who left Nashville on Saturday, and who is well posted in oolitical maitera in Tennessee, informed us that that State has gone for the Whigs, "horse, foot, and dragoons." Returns from ten to tweive counties had been received, which exhibited Whig gains. That party would elect their candidate for Governor, six at least out of the eleven members of Conjrres-, and majorities in both branches of the Legislature. It may console our Democratic readers to tell them that our informant was a Whig;. Lou. Bulletin, Monday 9th.

We have received the Diario and La Havana of the 20th ult. On the 20th, there arrived two new steam- j era from Cad i, the "Pizarro," and the -Nep-1 tune," destined for the defence of the coast, j etc. There nre now eleven Spanish vessels I of war, of different kind . already on the coast. The Diario says 'he naval forces of Spain in j the American waters are respectable in number, as weil as excellent in discipline. The Diario make a great flourish over the arrival of Ctf Pizirro, and sneers wall at those foreigners who rejoiced once, that in her shipwreck, was shipwrecked the navel power of Spain. The Pizarro, we are told, wilt again protect Cuba from pirates, adventurers, etc. The Diario is also rejoicing over the prosperity Cuba enjoys, for its connection with the home government, from its position, and from its exemption Irom the restriction and difficultiea ander which many other States labor. La Habana notices, on the 23d, the return to the port of the "Squadron ot Evolutions," under the command of D. Cristapal Mallen
