at Louisville. Steamboats had not last accounts commenced crossing the Falls. fL?"Tvvo Government snag boats, John Dell and Tom Teuton, pasted Kvansvillc Southward without stopping, Sunday morninir. Don't know where they were going. DirThe Nurma passed here yesterday morning. She had beeu laying up at I'aducah Eome time. OOThe Royal Arch was down yesterday morning, bringing the Louisville mail. We thank her clerks fur late Cincinnati and Lou isv ille papers. 07The Dove has been sold again, at Portland; this time for he sum of $4,500, to Capt. Smith. She is intended to run in the Southern trade. The Louisville Courier says she realized $60,000 for her first owners. She
passed here yesterday morning.
fr7-The Emm-pan. A. L. Shotwell and
Reindeer, passed up Sunday afternoon. They re all large steamers and have been laying up below awaiting a rise. The Princess, another large boat, passed down the same afternoon. It looked much like old times to ece l!iese great vessels at our wharf. n3The Louisville Courier says that by the blastin of the rocks from the head of the Falls at the Indiana Chute, the bed or the fiver has been made very irregular, and the Continual cutting away has the tendency lo draw the water from the wharf. We should be sorry to see 'Louisville .left high and dry away from the river. 07-Capt. J. Tucker, formerly commmder of the Telegraph No. 2, has contracted for a hew boat at New Albany a splendid passenger steamer to ply between Louisville and New Orleans, to be finished in December. Dimensions 275 feet in length, 34 feet beam, 1 feet hold, 5 boilers 42 inches in diameter, 32 feet long, two 34 inch cylinders 9 feet stroke, 37 foot wheel in diameter, 13 foot buckets.
