Mr. Seward presented a petition of the Now York Legislature, rektive to distributing the public lands to the several States for internal improvements. ' 4 The report of the commissioner of the Mexican boundary was received and refered. ' The House bill, to suppress the circulation of small notes iq the District, was refered. Mr. Pearce urged the consideration of the bill for the payment of the public debt, which was refered. The Pacific railroad Vtll nta taken up, and after a short debate the Senate went into Executive session and then adjourned. House The speaker announced the first business was the New York mint bill, which was debated till the expiration of the morning hour. t The President sent in a message in answer to the call fur information respecting the capture, by Spanish authorities, of the bark Georgiana and brig Susan Lcud, which was ordered to be printed. Mr. Polk moved reconsideration of the jotion to print. He said he wished the docu ments to go to the committee, that it might be determined whether it was proper to publish them.
