A meeting of Anti-Miami Democrats Was holden at Lick Kun On the CVenin Of , , 1T iri Ii I the 30th, and James lieck was called to the Chair, and Michael Geissler appointed Sterrtarv. Resolved That we, the citizens of Lick Run will this Fall vote the whole Whig Ticket, and nothing but the Whig Ticket. In doing this wc do not iyet belong to the Whig party, but have already gained confidence in its principles and practices. WThile we see the Nativism of th Whigs daily becoming less that of the Democracy is daily becoming stronger and stronger, and wc know that upon the slavery question the Whigs arc upon the true ground; and we are satisfied that if the Whigs continue as they are, it will hold the place of honor as the party of progress; while the name of Democrat will be dishonored by the falsity of it professors, and become a subject of mockery like the false prophets and hypocrites of history. Jas. Heck' President. Mien. Geissler, Secretary. General Pierce's Letter. We publish in full the letter of General Pierce upon the New Boston speech. Tlve cautious indistinctness and vasnie generalities with -which the charge is met will prove little prove acceptable to those whose support he hopes to gain by the denial. There is difference of nearly a week between the date of the letter and that to which it is in reply, and of nearly three weeks between the date of the letter and the timeofitspublication. General Pierce declares that the report made on the spot, by men not unfriendly to him, published at the time and never denied till after his nomination, is untruthful; but he does not tell us what he did say. We think tjie letter will do him no good. Providence Journal.
