Georgia Election'. The Augusta, (Ga.,) Chronicle & Sentinel says: "We have returns, nearly all official, from 90 counties of the late election in this Stale. The vote in the 90 counties stands, Democrats, 30,730; Whigs, 3G.637; Democratic majority, 93. In the 3 counties to hear from, viz: Montgomery, Ware and Union, Gov. Towns, democrat, received last year a majority of 210 rotes. Vermoxt. There has been 30 ballots for Speaker of the House of Representatives in Vermont up to Monday Morning of last week, without choice. Backed Ölt. The Louisville Courier of Tuesday says there was at the Gait House in that City on the day following, a gentleman who appeared quite anxious to invest $3,000, that Lewis Cass would be the next President of the United States. He wouldn't bet le6s than $3,000 and was very desirou to find some one to take the banter. A well known till zen of Louisville, learning of the proposition started immediately in search of the gentleman, and when he found him, offered to accept the bet at once, and to put the money up instanter. The gentleman very quietly re marked that he teuf proposed the bet, but after taking a sober second thought upon the subject concluded to back out, and woultat face the music. City Clothing Store. S. The news from the Continent is of a highly important character. Smith O Brien had been found guilty of trea son, but had .been recommended to ioval clemency for pardon. McManus had also been convict-d, but managed to effect his es cape from the authorities of Cork. He escaped on board an American ship. It is confidently asserted that O'Cneu's sentence will be fully executed. France. The election of President will come off on the 15th of November. Louts Na poleon, it is thought will be elected. Vienna is in successful revolt. The Minis ter was murdered by the populace and hungup on a lamp post, exposed to all kinds of indig nities. The Emperor and his family had fled. All the military of the city were in the hands of the people, and a Republic had been pro claimed. Markets. Cotton remained flat -Upland 31 to 33 Orleans 3 J to 31d.
