Co, Haddon for a report of the conduct of the 2d Indiana Regiment in the battle of Buena Vista. The object of this call no one could Lna Vista. TUeobjrct of this call no one could doubt. It was for no other purpose than to throw discredit on the official report of Gen. Taylor, which these worthies are attempting to construe to the preiudice of the 2d Indiana Regiment. Lieut. Col. Hadden responds to the call in the last Western Sun. He does not contradict Gen. Taylor's report in a single particular. In fact he states that which Gen. Taylor never stated, and which we never before heard charged against the Regiment that after he had succeeded, "with the assistance of company officers, in reforming the greater portion of the Regiment," "Gen. Buren was applied to by his democratic friends in Pennsylvania for the use of his name as a camiidate for the Presidency subject to the decisison of the Democratic Natioual Convention. The Farmer and Journal, a Democratic paper published at Wilkesbarre, Luzerne co., Pa., hoisted his name with a long and urgent appeal that he would not withdraw from the canvass.
