The Weekly Jock.-il is published every Thursday at $2 00, three copies for $5 00, seven copies lor $11 00, ten copies lor $15 00, in advance. WEDNESDAY MORNING. JUNE 14. By Telegraph to Louisville. From the Louisville Journal. ARRIVAL OF THE SET AM ER ACADIA. Boston, Juue 10. . The royal mail steamer Acadia, due at 2iev York, did not arrive. She reached Halifax ami her news was brought, from there by expn-ss bj the steamer Buena Vista to Boston, and thence received by telegraph. The following is a summary of the Acadia's news : France. Political affairs are now calm at Paris, but Lyons com in ue the prey to riots and mobs. The provinces are frightfully disaffected. A grand national fete was tu come off on Sunday at the Champ de Mars. Thf Deputies of the Afcseinbly had arrived, but the banquet was relinquished as impracticable. The Assembly and the Government show unmistakable fcigui of being discordant and not co-ordinate bodies. The legislative and executive powers bad no sooner reached the muvein-.ntr of the 15.hof May than they began to contend for the mastery, and propos d a decree authorising the members ct the Executive G . veinmen i to sit in the Assembly, and another re atricting the President of the Assembly in his potter over the troops both rejected. Another proposing to confide the external protection of the Assembly to the Executive, was rejected unanimously. Not only does distrust between the two authorities manifest itself, but the Executive must fall. On account of these internal dissent ions, Lamartine and Rolliu, it is thought, will resign, and Marrasl and Arago succeed them. Their parly by experience and moderation, have .reat weight. almost predominating in the Assembly. These are strengthened by the Legitimists. who organ "La Presse" has published a series of letters from the Prince de Joinrille, which are calculated to awaken their sympathies, and pave the way for his return to France as a private citizen. The Republican party ar evideutly aware oi this design, bat the Regency party have high hopes, while in consequence of real or pretended demonstrations, every avenue to and from the Assembly are daily thronged withboldierv with fixed bayonet. The Assembly have plain! declared that the keeping cf 150,000 pensioned men doing nothing must be stopped. The organization ot labor was the leading pretext of the revolution, but it has been found to be impracticable. The trials of the May conspirators had not taken place. Nothing had been done in France towards Poland. Lamartine policy towards Poland is regarded as doubtful, but he has unequivocally declared that Italy Khali not relapse under Austrian dominion, but, on the first call ot the Italian patriots, the French army shall croM the Alps. Mr. Rush, U. S. Minister, has presented the congratulations of Congress to the Pro via ional Government. Lamartine made a sutia ble reStonse to this manifestation of the American Congress. At Toulon ihe workmen had seized the arsenals, but the troops after a harp collision retained their possession. The Schlewig-llolsteiu dispute remains in statu quo. The Ernperor and Empress of Austria had lett Vienna secretly and unknown to the min istry on the 17ih. Why they thus acted is not stated. The Archduke Francis accompanied then. The mystery about the affatr of Lombardy continued unabated. Pescheira is b-seiged and Srvisco was in vested by the Austriuns, but still holds out at the latest accounts. At Naples an insurrection broke out on the 17th. tour hundred troops were killed, aud the beautiful city was given up to pillage bv the Government. Her magnificent palaces and villas are now a heap of ashes. The ac counts are confused in re card to this matter but it seems that aft-r the battle the National Guards were disbanded and a new Min istry was formed with Prince Cunati at the bead. Uulwer has seen dismissed from the court of Madrid by the Duke of Soto Meyer, and or dered to quit the city iu 49 hours. He accord inglv left and arrived at London on Wednesday No Parliament explanation has yet been given but it has deterred money purchases and made Exchequer bills lowerthe last sales being a 47 shillings premium. At Seville an insurrection had occurred, at ten lsd by great lo-Moflifo.for which the Freut h journals blame Uul wer. - Ireland, the excitement incident to the Government trials has found vent in large demonatrations; the Dublin Clubs and arti&ins are continually parading the street. A collision it is feared is inevitable.. Markets. Cotton is dull and the market is gloomy, prices having further d-cliiifd id. The accounts from tin: manufacturing districts are discouraging. .. The- sales of the week tmoant to 4,1K) bales. In sonv instances middling qualities have ben forced at even a greater decline. On Friday evening the committee of brokers declared the prices for fair Upland and Mobile at 44 1. Fair Orleans 4jd. Middling 3 a 3Jd, Ordinary 3 a 3Jd. The im ports bav been large during the werk.amountng fo-8,000 bales American. The present depresjjonVpnnot be improved till the affairs ou the continent assume a more settled a .spert; and the' probabilities are that prices may be Hill lower. The crops present an encouraging prospect tnd this naturally affects the leading articles of grain and produce. On Monday the quotation--taneed for best English wheat at 60 a 66; American 49 a 50s. In the Hous, Mr. Brown, of Miskisippi, submitted a resolution instructing the Committee on the Judiciary respecting the practice of courts, giving preference of wuits in certain cases. Passed. Mr. Goggin offered a resolution calling nn the Secretary cf War to inform the Honrespecting the payment of the Virginia volunteers. Objections to the motion were made. Mr. White offered a resolution to pay three hundred dollars toward defraying the expenses of the r mjval of the remains of Mr. Holley fro Florida. Objected to. Mr. Rockwell moved that the House go into Committee of the whole, which was not agreed to. The House thn adjourned till Monday. Cleveland, June 10. One hundred guns were fired yesterday for Taylor and Fillmore. A large ratification meeting was held last night, the Hon. F raneis Lrranger spok to the enthusiastic crowd. No doub's need be entertained that the. Western Reserve will support the nomination with hearty good will. - Gen. Cass huno in effigy et the" Abmt. The Locorocos are reckouing very itrongly upon the presumption that Geii. Cuss has made a good deal of political tapitol for himself by ids coursj in r.ard to the Mexican war. Th lollowing extract of a letter which we find in ihe Ri ailing (Pa.) Journal may terve t j ttow whdt sort ot leelings are entertained toward him in the ami) that has fought the battles in Mexico: San Angels, Mexico, April, 26, 1843. Dear It.'. You will allow me the privilege of saying one word ou politics. 1 know oi no inau that would bo more deserving the Piesidency than Kinüeld Scott, und a more outrageous and shatnetui set couid not have been rom in it ted by the Adiuiuiatia:ioii than io dra Geu. Scott from hi hig'.i couimand aud make nim a prion-r in the very capital awhich his ow a valor had won. N'Xi let me tell you how Senator Cass was treated by the volunteers. You will recollect that we (or the volunteers) were iiiuste red unhe act ol May, '4o by which we were allowed 3 50 per month for clothing, and in ac irculdr riatrd August 7ih, '47, we were again assured of receiving the same. But it teems ihat Mr. Cass, with a good economical heart, oÜVred a bill "to caue the volunteers to be furnished with clothing in kind, at the same rates according to grades, as is provided for the troops of the regular army." Thus you see he has reduced our pay for clothing from $3 50 to 5S"2 5J. This, 1 suppose, U the com pen-sat ion we get for fighting our way to the capitol. As oonas the lst Penusylvanians received news hat ibit J a no us bill had passed, they extended a rope across the main road leading to the city of Mexico and HUNG IN EFFIGY POUU L,tvj& Cd&o: öome othcers touched bv lh it politics ordered it to be cut down, but he boys had hun in his just position again soon ofcr, where lie hung tilleveuing, irAcn t teas taken down and doomed to the stake!
