The - work-record of : colored i employes at the modern plant of White Swan Laundry is being complimented and very highly, by plant officials and as a result, the plant is issuing a general call for moit full-time as, wel-L aa ■ part-time colored employes. , - This is the first time In the history of the local laundry that colored help has been given the opportunity to punch the time clock .but the work of the many colored employes at the local plant has so impressed' the officials that,' they have, promised never to revert to the old policy of “all white, help.” , : ; White. Swan officials ■ started a-hew shift this week that will give employment to boys and girls of high school age who want employment about:, four hours, work per day. The, shift is from five o’clock until ten at 'night,. There is a-t the present time, several openings, for. full-time, workers who desire to work in a modern, airy and well lighted laundry under the most sanitary conditions. You are paid to learn a trade at White Swan and work only five days per week at an average of ten hours per day-mei'e m no Saturday and Sunday work-. All . , persons interested in Steady employment that will be a big boom in the post-war era an industry, that . is essential, clean and pays well, are ask^d: to make application at the offices of White Swan Laundry-, Second andTngle streets. There are some women who earn as high as $3$ per week at this placd — both men and women, are needed.
