further development of the Terre Hauto field may be carried forward in a more scientific manner. Up to the present time the investigations seem to establish the fact that the oil is of high grade and readily convertible into valuable products.

There is now at Terre Haute within the city limits, but one string of tools in operation: A well is being drilled in about 1,500 feet north and a little west I of the Diall, This seems to be entirely off of the belt. It may be expected to strike the corniferous at fifty to sixty feet below the lower oil level.

If the conclusions of this article are correct, explorations for oil in western and southwestern Indiana should be conducted in north and south lines, while developments should be in eastern and western directions.
