Avoid the stores that sell below cost the year round. He that promises "Something for Nothing" is a fraud. July and August are known as the dull months. Every dollar we coax out of your pockets swells the sales and gives us the use of money with which we can make money. We gain by losing.
Clothing, like vegetables, don't improve with age. The bargain tables are here and the dollars we cut off the regular prices area clear gain to you if you've use for Summer Clothing, ^f

for Jake Kilrain or else hitting the city council for not building a big sewer. The old man said the streets looked like rivers, and that blamed oil got loose again Two to one the city gets sued again for something like a million, and we poor folks all have to pay higher taxes. If it comes to this, several people I know will have to take my advice and economize by buying their groceries of of E. B. Wright & Co. But if it doesn't they couldn't do bettor than to go to the White Front.

JUST WHAT YOU WANT. The public will be glad to know that T. J. Griffith as just received a new lot of Tan Oxfords, which are "just the thing" for these hot days. It has become a very popular shoe and looks and is cool on the feet.

COME LET'S FIGUBE. Patent window screens 30 inches high any width) sold by A. G. Austin & Co., or 50 cents. Are 20 per cent cheaper than our competitors 50 cent screens, 24 inches high. We sell the only cleanable refrigerators.

IS YOUB HEAD HOT?
Of course it is if you are wearing a heavy stiff hat theee warm days. And there is no sense in doing it when you can get a straw hat or one of those three ounce stiff hats at S. Loeb's. He is slashing prices and is determined to cloee out his stock of straw goods regardless of cost.
OIL INDICATIONS.
Excitement In Town as the Drills Near the Goal. The town has been greatly excited for the past three days over the prospects of finding oil, and groups could be seen on many corners discussing the matter. But there were other and sometimes larger groups who were commenting on the fact that the most elegantly dressed men in town had ordered their suits from Fred Freers, the merchant tailor.

INTERESTING TO WEABEBS OF SHOES. A patent has been granted Mr. B. W. Koopman, of Indiana, says the Washington Star, that will interest all wearers of shoes in every country, as well as tend to revolutionize the making of foot-gear. To those who suffer from- corns, bunions and Bore feet, Mr. Koopman's patent, when brought into practical use, will prove an especial boon, and to those whose feet are tender the news of the granting of the patent will be hailed with great delight, more especially when the workings of the new model last are explained.
Here is how the patentee explained his invention to a Star reporter this afternoon: "My invention, I am convinced, will fill a long-felt want. To make it brief to you: The block of my last is cut further down toward the toe than the old-timers and is made in three pieces— the central and two side pieces—all of which are wedge shape and can be put together in a moment as securely and solidly as if made of one piece. They can be readily taken apart simply by removing the thumb screw which holds the center piece, and the last can then be speedily removed from the shoe, piece by piece. "The advantage of this can be readily seen. In a word, it insures COMFOBT TO THE FEET." "Tell me exactly how?" asked the reporter. "In this way: Those side pieces, or 'bunion protectors,' will give the necessary room for the ball of the foot, and people will no longer be compelled to undergo the suffering of breaking-in shoes. People may now procure boots and shoes to fit the foot without leaving their measure, at a great saving to themselves."
Mr. Koopman expects shortly to see his invention freely used throughout the length and breadth of the land.
