NOTES.

The home club are the giants of the Illinois-Indiana league. Schultz has been released by the Danvillee, and has returned home.

The home club sustained their good record at Lafayette yesterday. Lafayette and Danville are neck and neck for second place in the league race, but are not invincible with the champions.

Wilmington pitched the last part of the game between Danville and Champaign, Thursday, and the Danville's made but three hits off Aim. Terre Haute base ball men seem to be mascots.

Danville ranks second in the league now, Lafayette having lost a game to the home club and Danville having won from the Champaign. Champaign is last and is making a hard fight to rank higher.

The two leading clubs of the league will play on the home grounds to-mor-row and Monday—the home club and the Danvilles. An exciting game is as sured because Danville is determined to defeat the champions and the champions are determined to win.

Spain Will Not Sell Cuba.

MADRID, June 21.—In the cortes today, Senor Becerra, minister of the colonies, reaffirmed that the United States government had made no proposition relative to the purchase of Cuba. He added that no proposal looking to the sale of the island would be entertained by the Spanish government.
