Frederick Faust, administrator of the estate of Daniel Conover, has filed his final report and the report was approved, by the court yesterday and the administrator discharged.

The list of entries for the fall colt races have been swelled to 125, live entries having arrived by mail since last Friday. The last two entries are of colts in California. The trotting association are well pleased with the prospect for financial success.

Thomas Braden and Edward Cooney were arraigned in police court yesterday morning for fighting, and Braden was fined 81 and costs. Cooney was released because the evidence showed that Braden had provoked the fighting. Cooney is the manager of the Henderson house livery stable, and Braden lives in the country.

David M. Smith, aged 62 years, and Elizabeth Slusser, aged t3 years, were married by Justice Slaughter yesterday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Feidler entertained a number of their friends last Monday evening with a euchre party. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Pritchett carried off the honors.

Mrs. Arthur Esslinger, of 307 north Jackson street, Danville, gave a 4 p. m. lunch yesterday to lady friends, in honor of her sister, Mrs. Baurmeister, of this city.

One of the most pleasant musical entertainments of the season was given by Mrs. Ed Owens, at her residence on Ohio street, last evening. There was a

large attendance, among whom wis Mim Hoffman, of Philadelphia, a beautiful singer.

Mrs. Patrick Daily will return on Sun day from Virginia, where she haa been for several weeks for her health, which is now greatly improved.

True merit and shrewd management combined continue to draw large audiences to thfe Opera house, where the Baldwin company is appearing this week. There was a large audience last evening to see the company in "The Queen's Evidence," which was presented in excellent style. There is really no fault to be found with these performances. To-night "The Danites" will be given.

Germania hall was filled with de lighted listeners to the concert given by the Germania society last night, under the efficient direction of Prof. Buko witz, of Coatee college. The entertain ment was free and limited in attendance to members of the society and invited guests. The major part of the concert was in German. A class of twelve children, Who have been under the direction of Prof. Buckowitz for two months, sang, and acquitted themselves so creditably that they were encored. Miaa Nott, who has had the advantage of Prof. Buckowitz' instructions for four months' sang two solos in English, "The Goja Waltzer," and "Cavatina." Professor Bukowitz remarked that she was gifted with superior talents, especially in the control of her voice. Professor Bukowitz played a piano solo that was highly appreciated and after the rendi tion of ten selections, all of which were excellently received, the chairs were taken from the hall and the remainder of the evening devoted to dancing. Professor Bukowitz has charge of the Germania society now as their musical director, and they meet for rehearsal on Tuesday and Friday evenings of each week.

buuud passenger train on the Atlantic fc Pacific railroad was robbed last night, at Canon Diablo, by four masked men. The Wells-Fargo express car was rifled. It is not known what amount waa taken The passengers were not molested. A number of shots were fired by the rob bers, but no one was injured. Sheriff Larson, of this place, with a posse, has gone in pursuit.

intendent Rowell, of the Wells-Fargo express company, said to-day that he had received no information of the reported train robbery at Holbrook, Ariz., last night, and had no idea as to the amount of treasure secured, but he had no doubt as to the truth of the report.

Ho Wanted to Carve "'Sheeny" Lehigh.

Robert Bradd was arrested in a west end saloon last night and lodged in jail for drawing a deadly weapon on "Sheeny" Lehigh. He threatened to carve Lehigh with a pocket knife because they did not agree on some unknown question.
