JACKSON, Miss., April CO, 1S87.
TIIK SWIFT SPECIFIC COMPANY, Atlanta, Ga.: CvntU-nu n— I have been an Invalid pensioner for forty years, having contracted pulmonary and other diseases In the Mexican War, but not till the 1st of JU:ir h, 1375, did I feel auy sy/nptof rheumatism. On that day I wits suddenly stricken with that dl*-e-ine in i*»th hl».'8 and ankles, or twenty daya I walked "n crutches. Then tin. pain :, less violent, but it shifted from joint to Joint. For weeks I would t.c totally disabled, either on one side of my body or «ne other. The pain never left me a mument'for eleven years and seven mouths—that is from MarcJi I. J- 75, -when 1 was first attacked, to October 1, lyStf, when I was cured. During these eleven years of intense suffering I tried innumerable prescriptions from various physicians, and tried everything suggested bv friends, but it I ever received the least benefit fryni any medicine taken Internally or externally, I am net aware of it. Finally, about tho first of September, I made arrangements to go to the Hot Springs of Arkansas, having despaired of every other remedv, when I accidentally met an old acquaintance, Mr. King, now of the*Lawreuee House of this city. He had once been a great sufferer from rheumatism, and, as I supposed, had been cured by a visit to Hot Springs, mit when I met him he told me that his vl.-ilt- to iho Hot Springs was In vain -he found lie relief On his return from HotSpringB he heard, for the first time, of the S. S. S. as a remedy for rheumatism. lie tried it and six bottles made a ci unplete cure. Several years havo passed since, but lie has had no return of the disease. 1 immediately returned to try it. In September I took four bottles anil by the llrst of October I was well as far as the rheumatism was concerned. All pain had disappeared, and 1 HAVE NOT PELT A TWI.NOK OK IT SINCE.
I have no interest In making this statement other hau the hope that it may direct some other sufferer to a sure source of relief, and If it has this result 1 am well rewarded for my trouble. I am very rerrl bpectfully and truly your friend.

LATE FANCIES IN GEMS,
A star sapphire in a daisy of diamonds is a rich design in brooches. In scarf-pins those of black oxidized silver, set with diamonds, are most stylish.
A golden street-lamp top, with a diamond for the light, makes an attractive scarf-pin.
An attractive lace pin is a golden shell partly open, showing a peari in its center.
An edelweiss of white enamel, with a diamond center, is a handsome design for brooches.
A'pleasing effect in pendants is obtained by Betting a topaz carved in clusters of diamonds and pearls.
Anew design in pendants is a double star of diamonds and sapphires, in the center of which rests an opal.
A miniature barrel lilled with pearls and hanging in the center of a coil of rope is a novelty in brooches.

AMUSEMENTS.
Her Atonement.
This American drama is somewhat familiar from a former representation. It re-appears with no diminition in effective scenery and careful acting. Miss Jean Delmar invests the character of Johnny Springfield, the bootblack, with great interest, playing tho little waif, picturesquely ragged, with much naturalness, although not able to disguise her own pleasing feminine personality. J. H. Ryan, as Mulligan, the original, fills the next largest place in public notice and is very amusing. The numerous realistic views of New York localities, the striking incident of the play and the military episodes introduced together with very excellent music by tho company's own orchestra combine to make an entertainment to please many.

Our Little Worries and 11U.
It is little things of life, the worrieis of to-day and to-morrow, that made the crow's feet around our eyes. So the little pains of an hour or a minute break down the constitution. Look after the Brandreth's Pills cure dyspepsia, or indigestion, headache, pain in the shoulders, coughs, tightness of the chest, dizziness, sour stomach, bad taste in the mouth, bilious attacks, palpitation of the heart, inHamation of the lungs. Pain in the region of the kidneys, and a hundred other painful symptoms are the offspring of dyspepsia. One or two Pi [Is every night is sufficient.
Kenews Her Youth.
Mrs. Pha'be Chesley. Peterson, Clav Co., Iowa, tells the following remarkable story, the truth of which is vouched foa by the residents of the town: "I am 73 years old, have been troubled with kidney complrint and lamoness for many years could not dress myself without help. Now I am free from all pain and soreness, and am able to do all my own housework. I owe my thanks to Electric Bitters for having renewed my youth, and removed completely Jail disease and pain," Try a bottle, 50c and SI at Cook, Bell & Lowry's drug store.

Worth Knowing.
Mr. W. H. Morgan, merchant, Lake City. Fla., was taken with a severe cold, attended with a distressing cough and running into consumption in its first stages. He tried many socalled popular cough remedies and steadily grew worse. Was reduced in flesh, had difficulty in breathing and was unable to sleep. Finally tried Dr. King's New Discovery for consumption and found immediate relief, and after using about a half dozen bottles found himself well and has had no return of the disease. No other remedy can show so grand a record of cures, as Dr. King's New Discovery for consumption, guaranteed to do just what is claimed for it. -Trial bottle free at Cook, Bell Lowry's.
