apoli?, Decaiur and Springfield railway people having information that the officials of the Chicago A Eastern Illinois road would have 5,000 men here last night to lay the track through this city for their St. Louis extension, put 1,000 men at work throwing obstructions across their track all last night, and today tbe men have been working like beavers, throwing out spurs directly across Central avenue, loading them th cars, and in some instances buge trenches have been dug, and the dirt used in burying the ca?t almost to the roof. Wnetber the Eastern Illinois people de igned going through the city and tap ping the Illinois Central to day is not known here, as up to this evening they have not put in an appearance.
