Police Affairs.

It has been noised about that there are several supernumeraries to to lie appointed by the police board on Monday. Since Superintendent Lawlor appointed two supernumeraries to "arrest" all cows the force has been lessened by that number. Occasionally, in case of sickaeBs,the cow polioemen have been called upon to take the place of officers, the other supernumeraries having been called into service. This has served to enliven the interest in the meeting of the board. There have been a number of calls for application blank?, and there will, no doabt, be a number of applications received by the board.

We have been more than rewarded by the large amount of Clothiug that we have cheaper than ever, as large lots have been cut down to two and three of a kind.
