A motton for anew trial will be filed this morning.* During the trial the court room was crowded, and ago deal of interest was manifested. This morning the Carlisle case comes up. Langtry in Her Youtb.
it Mrs. jondon,
Blanche Roosevelt says she Langtry on her first coming to at dinner, at the late Lord RanMagh's. She was shy, wore plain, black silk, and one rose in her hair, which was nutbrown and thick her eyes were fine and her skin fresh and hardy, but her mouth and waist were terrible, both as bifj as all out doors. She spoke with a frightful provincial accent, and every word she ittered sent the company off into screams of laughter.
She set to work on herself, according toBlanche, vigorously. Let ladies with large mouths and waists listen. She began by shaping in her waist, a hairdresser soon lightened the nut-brown of her hair to copper, and brought the tower from the top of her head to the nape of her neck, and a fashionable dressmaker soon routed cheap black silk and Jersey-cut garments. Looking at a photograph taken at that time you would not know her as the Lily she now is.
There is a' heavy, lower sensual, jaw, a pert nose, a tower of braid and puffs, an ill-made dress of homespun, no bust, and waist that even an old-fashioned Grecian Venus would have blushed to carry about with her in the times when Helen flirted with Paris and Milo made eyes at Antinous.

Traveling on a Trunk.
"Our company stranded in Milwaukee," said an actor who was bewailing his luck, in New York, the other day, "and I had to travel to this city on my trunk."
Traveling on a trunk is something I had never heard of before, and I asked to be enlightened. "Any railroad," he said, "will take your trunk for passage if you think you can redeem it at the end of your journey. Up in New England, if your trunk is valuable, you can get enough to buy meals on it as well as your fare. Every actor travels on his trunk when he is in hard luck."

DIVORCED BY A BISHOP.
The Marriage of a Catholic Couple by a Protestant Minister Declared Noll. MONTBEAL, January 15.—A few weeks ago the young and pretty daughter of Mr. Globensky, owner of the French Signory of St. Eustace, near Montreal, followed the example of her sister, who eloped a year ago. The second daughters lover was her cousin, a young doctor, and owing to the refusal of the priest to perform the marriage seivice recourse was had to a protestant minister. To-day society was startled by the runaway bride taking civil and ecclesiastical steps to annul the marriage. She says that the marriage was illegal, owing to the parties being Catholics and not recognizing the authority of a Protestant clergyman, and that she could not legally marry her cousin without a special dispensation of the church. The bishop has granted her request, declaring the union null, according to the council of Trent decree, which, he says, is in force in this province. The court will also .yield to the girl's strange petition.

Storm Signals.
As the coming of a great storm is heralded bj the display of cautionary signals, BO IS the approach of that dread and fatal disease, consumption of the lungs, usuaally announced in advance by pimples, blotches, erruptions, ulcers, glandular swellings, and kindred outward manifestations oi the internal blood poison, which, if not promptly expelled from the system, attacks the delicate tissues of the lungs, causing them to ulcerate and break down. Dr. Pierce's 'Golden Medical Discovery" is the great remedy for this as for all diseases having their origin in bad-blood. It improves the appetite and digestion, increases nutrition and builds up the wasted system.

In America, people are in such a hurry to get their work done and their moiwy made that they neglect their food, And when they have accumulated their fortunes they haven't the health" to enjoy them. We called in a family physician, but he failed to do her any good. At this time a friend, who has been cured by DR. WM. HALL'S BALSAM FOR THE LUNGS, advised me to give it a trial.
