THE ELECTRIC LIGHT.

Probability that the Company will Do Nothing for Some Time.:

The indications that the Electric Light company will let the scheme lie dormant for some time, as the stockholders are of the opinion that it will not be a paying investment for some time to come. Mr. H. Hulman, one of the stockholders, has returned from New York, and a meeting of the stockholders will be held at an early day. The investors are apprehensive that if they go to work and invest their money witb the present system of electric light, that something may be invented that will knock the present system higher than Pike's Peak. There are those who think that such an investment would be a paying one. This belief is brought about by the fact that cities not as large as Terre Haute have tLe olectric light, and the investment pays. All those who entertain such belief will be at liberty to invest—perhaps.
