New Tariffs. •v':
The new joint freight tariff of the fourteen Indianapolis roads went into effect yesterday. The new tariff gives rates on all classes of freight, including grain, to 560 points in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan, fifty-five being rated which have not before appeared on the tariff sheet. Under the new tariff rates are reduced to many points, and in but few cases is there any advance.

In the cab alone are sixteen recently-pat-ented improvements, among them one to throw the door to the fire-box open another distributing the coal equally over the grates. The engine has a steel fire-box, steel boiler, extension front, straight stack, spark-arrester, 17x24-inch cylinder, and numerous other improvements.
