TERRE HAUTE TALENT. An Account of the Beceut Concert at Opern Hall, Hoopeston, by the Davis l'nmlljr and Others, of This City.

The Daily Chronicle, of Hoopeston, 111., contain? the following mention of the concert recently given at that place, by Terre Haute ladies and gentlemen

The grand concert In the Opera hall Snturduy night, by the Davis family, was the flnest entertainment of the kind ever witnessed In this city. Miss May McKwati's tine ballad singing was simply superb, and she was enthusiastically encored. Miss Helen JetTers' rendition of some tine operatic selectionsthowed that she has a splendid voice and knows how to handle It to perfection. But It would only be occupying unnecessary spaae to give the points of excellence of each performer, although they richly deserve It, as such talent is rare. The nousc ivih packed full, and the audience went home with the feeling that they bad iiur rwelvod for their admission fee.

I The singers were entertained by Mr,.and I Mrs. H.X. Bushnell, at their home, Satur* day evening, and'took the midnight train home. Thoy have the assurance of

Hoopeston people that when they come again they will be greeted With a full house. The church realized In net profits the handsome sum of S1GS.

It may be well to state that the Chronicle in its account fails to.mentioh the following TerreHauteans who took part in the concert: Prof. Carhart, the excellent elocutionist Prof. E. C. Kilbourne, who performed piano accompaniments, and Miss Essie Kent, who gave the piano accompaniments for Miss May McEwan, all persons of superior talents.

The trouble in the Cannelbure mines is still far from being settled. The miners so far have held their own, and but seven men are at work.
