Share speculation opened irregular, but prices in the main were a fraction below yesterday's closing. In early trade the market was very dull, and prices fell oT per cent., Delaware Hudson and Northwest'leading the downward movement. Subsequently the tone became firmer, and a recovery of per cent, was recorded, iii which Wabash preferred and-common, New York Central and Mutual Union were conspicuous. About midday prices receded per cent., the latter Wabash preferred, after which the market again became strong, and about 2 o'clock an advance took place, ranging from to 1%, Alton & Terre Haute. New Jersey Central and Lackawanna being prominent.therein, while Sk Paul prefesred sold up to 130%, from 137 this morning.
