"KOOMS FOB REST."

The comedy as above, drew a fair house to which it afforded ample entertainment, We can not call it, aa yclept in.the bills, a "roaring comedy," but while it develops but little very fresh humor, nor many striking scenes, it is mirth provokiDg

The various actors in it fill their sever al parts with ability and secure the interest of the audience.

There is not more than a suggestion of a plot, which is laid in a house, divided into several apartments whose occupants are the characters of the play. We have the singer, Mile. Rossvella, whose jealous husband has left her the lively Mis. Cutter, who paints, and her jealous husband, the detective the gallant Colonel Bombast and niece, and the 1st tert funny luver, the Danish dancing master and the old proprietor who would marry the niece. The entrance to the last vacant room of Messrs. Huccleman, the Bohemian, and Raymond the wandering jealous husband is the beginning of the events that make the play. Huccleman advertises for a wife, Mrs. Cutter writes for a model and H. appears in her room in answer, he looking for a wife and she for a model—fine opening for Cutter's jealousy. This and Cutter's taking the new-comers for concealed burglars furnish the main incidents in a mild comedy errors.

I. N. Beers, who once appeared here as Skinny Smith in MacAuley's "Messenger from Jarvis Section," made a good im pression as Huccleman. He is easy in action, of pleasant voice, with natural vein of humor and a varied talent as shown by the capital old man's disguise.

On Frederick Dahl (by Edward Hoist, the author of the comedy,) is huDg most of the burlesque, which is amusing. Hi3 ballet in the last act could only be equalled by some maitre du ballet, and it had to be seen twice. He moat receive credit for the vaccination joke, now introduced six times a week when we have that number of Bhows.

Miss ]pizzie Fletcher, as Mrs. Cutter, who appeared in a variety of picturesque costumes threw any amount of animation into her part, and a large part of the life into the play. Miss Genevieve Reynolds, as Mile. Bossvella, supplied the melody, and well. The Dancing with chorus and the dancing accompaniment by the company, was So very good aa to call for an encore, and a wish that there waB more of it during the evening. The other members of the support were all well up in their parts and worthy of commendation.

THE MIGHTY DOLLAR.

At the Opera House to night "The Mighty Dollar" will be presented. The following is from the Chicago Tribune: "Florence is always sure of welcome whenever he appears in our city theatres. A brief engagement was begun last evening at McVicker'a Theatre. The entertainment provided was Ben Wolf's comedy, 'The Mighty Dollar,' and the attendance was a very large one. This piece has had a popularity rarely accorded an American play. Its popularity has not been won by reason of its intrinsic merit as a dramatic work, but is solely owing to the two types of character, the Hon. Bardwell Slote and Mrs. General Gilfiory, admirable satires in their way. built up and elaborated by the stars. On the part of both there is the same amount of care lavished upon every detail of the assumption as formerly, Mr. Florence originally acting in the part."

CINDERELLA AT SCHOOL.

The Bice Surprise Party will make their second visit to this city Friday night in "Cinderella at School," a charming bagatelle of mirth, melody and beauwhich first found popular favor at

The Great English Remedy I Daly's Theater, New Yoik, late laJt°seaNeve fails ..to cure son, and has since become a standard aV traction in the repertoire of that house and in that of Mr. Bice's Surprise Party. "Cinderella at School" was composed by

Woolson Morse, of Boston. The music is of a popular kind, and adds greatly to the enjoyment of the dialogue.. The cast is remarkatfte for its musical strength, there being over forty speaking characters introduced in the school room Bcene, which is vividly reproduced in all the minor details. Among the artists engaged in this performance are Miss Ro»e Temple, Miss Kcaa Dana, Miss Rosa Cooke, Misa Carrie E. Perkins, Miss Jennie Calef, Misa Emma JBurgess^Miss Irene Perry, Mr. Henry E. Dixey, Mr. George A. Schiller, and the favorite tenor. Mr. Eugene Clarke. "OLD SHIPMATES."

An Enviable Reputation. It is with pleasure we allude to the manufactures'of the well knows chemists. Joseph Burnett & Co., of Boston. They have won by their merits and attractiveness a {lace beyond that occupied by anj other similar manufactured goods in this country.

Their Cocoaine for the hair, and a superior Cologne water, have become famous for their excellence.

In addition to these preparations are Burnett's Standard Flavoring Extracts for cooking purposes, and we can not show better evidence of their superiority than by referring our readers to the testimonials of ail the leading popular hotels in the country. These are published in Burnett's Floral Hand-Book, an attractive and valuable little pamphlet which is distributed gratuitously by the trade.

All respectable dealers sell Bnrnett's se lect goods, and all lovers of choice things will do well to bay them in preference to the cheap and impnre articles now in the market.
