What ever Mr. Vanderbill's answer may be, it is understood that the present arrangement, by which the Bee Line operates the I. & St. L., will continue in force for the present, and a high official states that there will be no change in officials of the road, unless some unforeseen trouble should come up. He should continue to b9 a director and member of the executive committee, and there was no truth in the reports of a disagreement between Gould and himself. Humphreys said that no action was taken with reference to the company's general mortgage bonds. It appears, however, that a syndicate has been formed to take a large amount of general mortgage- bonds at ver^ near present prices, thereby furnishing funds which will be used, in paying off the loans which have lately become so troublesome. Money waa borrowed on the collateral afforded by the general mortgage bonds issued in coonection with the purchase of branch lines. The arrangement just made practically effects the sale of a large stock of bonds at good prices.
