Warning Words.
The strength and nervous energy of the human body ought to be increased during the winter, for two reasons: In the fiist, place, diseases of the most deadly character may be generated at this seaton and secondly, it is of the utmost importance that during the cold winter weatter months the system should be put in a condition to withstand the effects of the Spring miasma, and the subsequent depressing heat of Summer. It is therefore advisable, in fact essential, to tone, regulate and invigorate the digestive and secretive organs at this period of the year, and of all the stomachics and alteratives at presenttnown. Hostetter's Stomach Bitters is the most powerful, the most harm less and the most agreeable. The tempera ture of winter would be in itself a glorious tonic, if it did not, unfortunately, bring with it a volume ot chilling moisture and unwholesome winds, which have a bad effect on the skin and lungs. Thei-c must bo guarded againtt, or there is no security for health. The efiect of a course of the Bitters is to gire vigor and tone to the entire organization—tbe superficial muscles and nerves, as well as the internal viscera. A regular habit of body, a healthy and natural flow of bile, an active digestion, agood appetite.pure bloed, and a vigorous circulation that fluid, are among the blcsein8 derivable from a persistent use of Ilosteiter's Stomach Bitters, which n-t only more tban supplies the place of the best tonics, cathartics and antiseptics prescribed in their separate forms by physicians, but perform the threefold work of invigoration regulation aid purification, at one and the same time.

This journal is now thoroughly .identified with the greatest political necessity, of the hour—uncompromising warfare against all forms of corruption, whether in national or local government. For years past the riMES has been exposing the demoralizing schen.es of self interested politicians, and its recent warfare upon the Tammany Democrats has been received with universal approval. It has adhered to the pledge given in its original prospectus more than twenty years ago, that the public should be truly ^presented, and ther interest faithfully guarded through its columns, Its record has been pure and honorable, and the highest aim of i»s propria^ tors is to render it more and more worthy of its past history, and of the confidence which the public repose in it. lwe out of ttiree of the original proprietors still direct its policy, and guide it on all public questions. They purpose that the TIMES shall continue to keep clear ofall narrow and unworthy infiuences and cliques, and aim to represent the
